It basically says, make great levels and possibly get hired to create even more great levels! Sounds good to me. So excuse me whilst I flood the the ideas forum with IDEAS!

While that is awesome, I think its just the alternative money-making method for them.. since micropayments optional was disbanded (until qualified) they need another way to make money. I think they will pay you a small amount but charge a small amount for people to d/l your levels, and besicaly, they end up with most of the profit.

Yes, you are probably right. Still getting paid, even if it isn't much, is still a great sounding thing to me. Especially when your playing a fun little game at the same time. I shouldn't imagine it would be any more then make the levels at home either would it? It would be great if it were actually like a proper job though you know? Although thats asking a little much i think, unless your some god at level making.

Even if I end up really good at littlebigplanet, I will refuse because I think awesome levels should be free

Unless of course is just a job at their company itself, I would surely agree, more now that I am over 18

Its not actual Hiring, its just payiing you for the right to sell your levels in a way.

This is a good thing. Exactly what I'd hope will happen and what I think will happen. I doubt I'll be good enough to get any recognition though. It'll be interesting to see how far different LBPC members' skills can take them. What I know is that this game is going to eat up crazy amounts of time.2008-09-01 17:04:00

Yeah, good luck to EVERYBODY here, hope at least one of us gets 'hired'

Yeah, I think I have some pretty epic ideas for levels. I hope I get "looked at" by Mm.2008-09-01 17:16:00

i figure that if they are going to "hire you" it pretty much means u get cash to make levels... then the lvls go on a player-made download pack that you pay for...

am i right?

I think whoever they choose as part of their level creation team will get their hands on downloadable expansions before the rest of us to use the new stuff to create levels.2008-09-01 17:54:00

Briguy, I'm going to spend 10+ hours on a level so that I get recognition and because the game is going to rock. I must please my ego. It commands me. 2008-09-01 19:58:00

Although I like the thought of the MM team checking out my creations, I'm not really interested in selling them as downloadable levels that require pay-to-play qualifications. I'm here to create for the community and that means my input will be FREE!2008-09-01 19:58:00

Maybe. I don't think they'd do that, honestly. I can't really put my finger on why - there's probably some liability issues, though. Too many people would violate their NDAs.2008-09-01 20:27:00

Umm, they'd do what? Give access to future expansions? I wouldn't see that as much of a problem. They probably want all the advertisement for future expansions as they can. After all, the level designers wouldn't get access to the expansions before they were in nearly releaseble condition.2008-09-01 20:38:00

it is true about liability... what if you make a level and u use a puzzle that u won isn't the guy that made the origonal thing entitled to get credit?2008-09-01 20:53:00

I think it would be fun, if the due dates weren't too strict. Maybe a level a week? You know, so that creators don't feel rushed.2008-09-01 23:33:00
