What should Sony do to have the best press conference?

What do you think? I think that they should forget about the PS2 and focus on PS3. PSP comes second. Seriously. And no one really cares about PS2. Anyone who watches the E3 already HAS a PS2.2009-06-01 20:43:00

Since when the PS2 was supposed to be a focus?

Sony simply needs games to "win".

If they come up with :

-Heavy Rain
-Uncharted 2
-God of War 3
-TRICO
-Gran Turismo 5

Everybody will dance the Sony tune.

LBP is for anyone, if it gets ENOUGH marketing attention then people might get interested.

Nobody can hit in the market with one game. LBP thunder = past in matter of pushing the PS3 forward. Sorry

duh, I didn't meant it that way.
if they give a wide range of games for the PS3, and start spending some money to get some more exclusives can help.

I agree with the OP, i don't like how Sony are still focusing on the PS2.

I'm more than happy that developers create games with PS2 quality graphics for the PS3, but Sony shouldn't encourage developers to create games exclusive to the PS2.		2009-06-02 00:19:00

that is a hell of a list of games, I have to admit.

I wouldn't expect any Trico, as there's been no mention or buzz about it. It's the one I would want to see over any others by far.

I think he means it costs them enough to make each PS3 in production and they're not making money from them so there won't be a price drop any time soon.		2009-06-02 02:09:00

Where the hell are you guys living? Same planet as me? Where did you see or read there's a focus on PS2?

There's no focus on PS2, at all. It only dropped in price this years and that's it. Next news you will have of the PS2 is when they will stop its production.

Am I the only one here who remembers the 45 hour long speech about the PS2 back at E3? How it's still doing well and they're going to go through with the 10 year plan? How it still has some big games coming out for it?

-Demonstrating games, delay God of War 3 (I really hope Sony does this)
-Party system, voice messaging, more like Xbox Live

Last E3 they talked about PS2? Hey did you know that last year the machine was just as popular as the PS3 and PSP? Did you notice that nothing happened on the PS2 last year anyways? How is that "a focus"?

Yes, I am fully confident that Sony Santa Monica can make God of War 3 an (ahem*) god among men, if they just take their time

I honestly think 2009 is too early for GoW3 (God of War, not GEARS of War), I think the opportune time to release it would be Q3/4 of 2010, right before the Holidays...

Besides, I'd say (in terms of games that aren't FPS'es) the PS3 is pretty far ahead of the Xbox this year in that respect, so it's not like God of War 3 is as much of a "saving grace" as numerous fanboys would like to believe :|

God of War 3 may not rapture us all to Heaven, but if Santa Monica is given more time to polish the sh*t out of it, then it just... might		2009-06-02 04:46:00

Hmm...that makes sense then. Yeah, I'd be fine with that. Especially since I haven't played any of them yet, I hope they go with the special edition pack with GoW1 and 2 on blu ray, whatever that means (all the cutscenes in hd, just a rip of the games, games upscaled, whatever).2009-06-02 04:49:00

Sony needs to focus on exclusives. Convincing someone to buy a PS3 over a 360 solely for the games is already difficult (though much less so now than ever), and to really hit the ground running they need to show what kinds of experiences are unique to the PS3.

Also, if they can simultaneously announce a price-drop ($100 would be perfect), I think they'll see a huge surge in sales.		2009-06-02 06:05:00

Neither have I. I'm just turning fifteen and the only rated M games I have are Assassins Creed, Bioshock, and Metal Gear 4, plus the only reason I could get those was for the rave reviews. Stupid 'M' rating.		2009-06-02 06:08:00

Umm...thanks for the advice Tom...but I don't have the time to play them and over the summer I'm gonna be holed up in my room building levels whenever I'm not at summer school...so I don't think so (not that I don't want to...)

And iiiijujube, you know the GoW is a series with rave reviews right...?

Actually this is a misconception that still wanders the internettes.

The diode for the BRDs drive and the BRDs cost sunk alot in the last year. Actually, there even is 199$ BRD drives sold in the market.

What's holding the PS3 price is more the rest of its hardware than the BRD drive itself. They need to simplify the motherboard, make it more efficient and reduce the size of the components.

But Microsoft is doing the same thing during that time so when Sony will drop in price, Microsoft will also be ready to match.
