Glass + fire = wow!
Archive: 13 posts
I Just discovered that when you apply fire to glass, the effect seems to be multiplied and a fiery aura results! This lookes VERY COOL. I searched the forum but saw no mention of it so I thought I'd let you all know. | 2009-06-01 02:07:00 Author: mindphaser74 Posts: 349 |

Oddly enough, I never thought about lithing glass on fire... . | 2009-06-01 15:19:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Oddly enough, I never thought about lithing glass on fire... . Yeah me either oddly enough. IMO it is a far superior looking fire when applied to thick material; THIN glass material doesn't give this fiery aura off, only the thick stuff. | 2009-06-01 16:21:00 Author: mindphaser74 Posts: 349 |
For a moment I thought this would be about what happens when you put glass in front of fire...this, however, is totally different...I'll check it out when I can. Pics would be nice | 2009-06-01 16:27:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
I'd like to see some pics as well, but it sounds like a very good glitch type thing Another good find! | 2009-06-01 16:52:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
Yup, I tried this last night - I took cardboard and caught it on fire, and changed it to glass. There is definately a difference. The fire applied to glass definately looks very cool. | 2009-06-01 17:17:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
I discoverd this to. Diffrent materials gives diffrent texture. For exampel dark matter /Fire gives very black fire. | 2009-06-01 18:08:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'd like to see some pics as well, but it sounds like a very good glitch type thing Another good find! I'm not sure that's possible, since as you may or may not know, fire doesn't show on pics... | 2009-06-01 18:20:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Pics via a camera then! | 2009-06-01 18:54:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
The fire in my Chroma Stone levels is always on glass. It glows nicer. I didn't think to post it. LOL Check out the floor in the big cavern of the 2nd one. That's all red glass that's been set on fire. I quite like electrified glass with and without stickers too. Very nice glowy light on that. | 2009-06-01 18:56:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I did it myself and you're totally right - it looks great. I'm also finding some fun effects with my own little idea. 1) Place a large rectangle of glass 2) Attach it to some dark matter with a motor bolt 3) Set the motor bolt to 60 speed 4) Set the glass on fire 5) Take it out of pause mode and look at the amazing effect of it! Makes a really nice effect | 2009-06-01 21:07:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
Yeah, all the latices and stuff are also good - I really like skull metal on fire. And wooden struts is nice, but a bit intense.. | 2009-06-01 21:21:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
