Music Level: Megaman - Concrete Man Theme

Archive: 16 posts

VIDEO IS UP!

Helllloooo, I published a new music level a couple days back and I'd like to share it...

Basically, it's just a music level through and through. Nothing groundbreaking. Visuals aren't impressive either, but I was having thermometer troubles and I ALMOST couldn't fit the song in the level. I had to cut some notes out of the song to get it working.

So yeah, don't expect anything new out of this level. If you come in without expectations, I'm sure you will get some sort of enjoyment out of it. Like I said, I will find pictures to put up really soon.

Level Name: Mega Man Music - Concrete Man Theme
Rating: 4/5

I will do F4F if you want, just say F4F at the end of your post if you give me feedback. (I'll probably just give feedback to anyone who gives it to me though, lol)

Thank you.

Someone was nice enough to record my level.

Wow, that was great! It must've took forever to do, I can't imagine setting up all those speakers and making it all sound as flawless as that. I found it on Cool Levels, congratulations on making it there!2009-06-02 00:55:00

What you do with music is truly amazing. I played all your music levels and was enthralled by how complex they are. The music itself is inspiring. Too bad the thermos won't allow us to use your music when we create. I would choose it hands down.

I do have two minor nitpicks.

I think the visible piston distracts from the enviornment you have created. (No reflection on your work I just can't stand those things being visible.)

The other is it looks as if the sticker on the lever didn't fully cover it.

You are extremely talented.

I loved this one, man. Took me way back in time, and technically, as far as I can tell, it was perfect. Just seeing the series of notes arranged as they were was pretty impressive - being able to play it backwards was a super nice touch too. It ended up causing me to make a nice Mega Man costume and replay it lol2009-06-04 12:07:00

Well I played all of your music levels a couple of days ago, and I must say I'm very impressed. You definetly have a heck of a talent at these things, the Starfox theme gave me goosebumps, I used to love that game

Theres nothing else to say, they sound incredible and are also very impressive to look at, seeing all those notes you have used. It must have taken a great deal of time to get them all in time.

Like someone above said, it really is a shame that it eats so much thermo, because you'd be in great demand for custom music in levels

Galaxy Man had my favorite theme out of all the Megaman 9 stages. If you could make that I'd come to your house and give you a high five!2009-06-07 22:54:00

Joe, I just played Mega Man and I have some feedback for you.

Since I've never heard the original music before, I can't comment in the area of comparisons, but if it's anything like the arrangement you created, it must be awesome. I liked the way the music started, the foundation, and how you built upon it to make it more complex and rich in quality. And the tempo was perfectly sustained throughout the entire level--a timing masterpiece.

I can add nothing in this review to improve on your masterful capability to use the tools Mm has provided with their sound objects. I can say, however, that I will probaly want to pick your brain sometime.

Bravo! Very Well Done!

I rated this level 5-Stars, Tagged Brilliant, and Hearted it and you as a Creator. I will be checking out all of your levels in the near future.

One suggestion:
Regarding the mechanics of the moving observation room, I do have a simple suggestion here that would add to the enjoyment of this level. Rather than use a bi-directional lever-style switch to activate the piston, use a proximity sensor that encompasses the entire room, such that the room begins moving when Sacky enters through the checkpoint, and possibly have a short delay before it moves. The player could then just sit back and enjoy the show, rather than depress R1 through the entire level. If someone is really interested in how you created this arrangement, they will play the level again, and again, and again...--I certainly will. The net result would be improved focus of the player to fully enjoy your creation, and better replay value. Just a thought.

This is a Must Play level, and I highly recommend everyone play it.

I'm very curious what your opinion will be on my Takken level, as there is an extreme difference between yours and mine--another reason why I enjoy hearing feedback from unique perspectives.

Hey guys I'm going to post up a video someone made for me on Youtube!

Anyways, I really appreciate all of your compliments, because they motivate me to create more and more.

And @ RickRock_777 -

Whoa, thank you for that full analysis! It's usually hard to judge a music level like that but you found a way to do it,

And I think I have to agree with you about the switch. I personally am not a fan of it, but there are many people out there that like to listen to everything backwards. This was actually something I pondered for quite awhile before I published it. I like when a music level does everything for you and you can sit back and enjoy. You have a point too. If I do it the way you suggested it may get more plays. I might consider.

I haven't had much time lately, but fortunately today is my day off. You can expect my analysis on Takken soon.

Thanks again for the review and the suggestion! And the heart!

You know, Galaxy Man is one of my favorites too. I was actually thinking of doing this next before you said anything. So high five!

Right now I'm working on something else, but this will be next on my list.
