Help making a type of level.
Archive: 6 posts
I am about to make a level sort of like wexfordians "Little fish, big pond" Where it looks like your playing as something other then sackboy. And your sackboy is behind a thin material, with a jetpack. I know how their doing it, but i cant get the start right, where the player has to jump into the little hole and hold r1 until they are controlling the other thing. Any advice/ tips on how this is done? Thanks! | 2009-05-30 23:01:00 Author: Jrange378 Posts: 573 |
I've been wondering exactly the same thing and will keep an eye on this thread to find out how. | 2009-05-31 00:54:00 Author: mistervista Posts: 2210 |
Laptop battery is running out of charge so I won't explain in detail how it owrks (will edit later though). For now I leave you with this video: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wg0ZBHdz7wM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Wg0ZBHdz7wM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> It is of Libidius.jp and I beleive there is a tutorial by the creator on how this is done. I'll try and find that later as well. | 2009-05-31 15:38:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
Emit a jetpack on the user, surely? As in, grab switch -> Relay+Delay -> Emit jetpack? Then the relay/delay would emit the thing you control, which would be attached to a ring of peach floaty around the player, and you slot a thin layer in between. No? | 2009-05-31 15:45:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
I was trying something similiar to this but the object you control keeps spinning and wont stay upright. | 2009-05-31 17:51:00 Author: Jrange378 Posts: 573 |
Use a weight (stone or sth) to keep it down. That way it'll stay balanced, except if you totally topple it... You could always try it with invisible pistons... | 2009-06-01 09:48:00 Author: Eldrazor Posts: 78 |
