The gameplay of LittleBigPlanet PSP looks great. Familiar, yet fresh.

Edit: Wow, that's another two major Sony E3 announcements out the window. Sony needs to sort this stuff out.

... wow. Great find! XD Man, Sony needs to sort this out O_o

From what I saw, LBP PSP seems to have only one plane... Which is what IO figured it was going to be, but STILL

I`m prety sure SONY did it on purpose despite what they claim. It might ruin the surprise, but it`ll get folk to talk about SONY rather than Microsoft for the time being.2009-05-30 18:07:00

It seems as if the background was more a separate plane...we can hope...

I noticed that Sackboy jumped the same way ie. he was influenced by physics. I`d be amazed if they got the PSP to do that properly.2009-05-30 18:13:00

Oh wow! It seems to be pretty much the same game except there's one plane on wich you can play.

Actually its cool and at the same time it might not be interesting to me when I already own the PS3 version (since i'm not interested in portability, I buy portables for their games and I play them at home most of the time)

Someone recorded the accidentally released June episode of Quore, which features the new PSP. YouTube - PSP GO - QORE JUNE 2009 - HQ
The official reveal will be on Tuesday, I guess.

Also contains teeny tiny snippets of LBP PSP footage, but I'm much more surprised that to hear a word about GT mobile.

The second video on this listing has much clearer audio and video. It's almost as if someone went in and filmed the episode with something like a phone and then released it, and then the people with the proper footage just went and released the real thing.

Still, the idea of a PSP without a disc player (UMD) is pretty radical. I agree in that it's not ideal to be missing a second analogue stick, but then if they added it it would be really bad for games that need it but don't support it, or it might make developers lazy and have poor support for a non dual stick method. I'm guessing they are saving a dual stick method for a true PSP 2.

So... a digital PSP... interesting. But I'd need to see how well it's supported online first. :S

Personally I won't buy it. I can tolerate (and enjoy) a console where I have some choices between physical media and digital media. But I simply can't support the idea of "all digital". If I encourage this PSP model it's only the beginning.

Right now the problem with digital distribution is that it doesn't give me more convenience than with physical media outside physical space wich is an extremely minor annoyance. Let's face it, "digital only" is a fiscal paradise for big corporation since they simply control you ALOT more easily.

The day I will able to buy digital stuff, install it as many times as I want, lend it to friend and sell it, digital distribution will have evolved enough so it reaches the convenience of physical media. At that point I will jump in. Right now, I ask for a choice.

I'm already ****** that Patapon is digital only, just watch the next batch of PSP games to be digital only too. And this is not funny because it's awesome stuff like Motorstorm, Jak and Daxter, LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo. They said the will support both PSPs so I hope this means there will still be physical releases --- but I doubt it.

Sony...I just don't understand. I would have bought this (http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/02/hot-psp-render.jpg), but instead you release something that can only be referred to as a high-tech Game Boy Advance. It's disappointing, really - I was looking forward to the previously linked fan mock-up (or even something like that), but I won't be spending my money on this.2009-05-31 06:46:00

Wut?
I was even wondering if they did design the new PSP by that mock-up because it's so similar! What's the problem with the new PSP model?

I actually might reconsider getting a DS. I played Guitar Hero: On Tour, and it was pretty fun. But LBP for psp? AWESOME!!!!

They really don't look the same - they have similar designs, but there are a myriad of small differences that definitely set them apart. (mock up (http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/02/hot-psp-render.jpg) vs. psp go (http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/05/press-sony-psp-go-1.jpg))

As for specific issues:
The shape, for one - a curve that severe will prove uncomfortable fairly quickly, and that crease (where curves in the two sliding pieces meet) will also cramp and pinch your fingers over time. The odd position of the PS button is also a turn-off - why not put it in the center, under the screen? Where it is now, I'm sure it will be fairly easy to push it accidentally, especially considering the small size of the device. They also had a good chance to introduce a second thumbstick, but they left it out for some odd reason. Even without the thumbstick, who in their right mind decided to cram the start and select buttons so close together? It seems like the entire device was created solely for Asian women and children under the age of 10 - the finger strain over long periods of play will definitely prove an issue. At least in the original PSP, the buttons were spaced out enough that you could take it in your full grasp instead of clinging to it by your fingertips.

Overall, the PSP Go! just seems plagued by bad design decisions. I hope Sony is smart enough to price the PSP Go! for cheaper than the current PSP - otherwise, I don't see many sales for this device. If it is overpriced, those who would be able to afford it could also probably shell out for an iPod Touch or an iPhone, both of which are better portable media hubs than the PSP is.

Looks like I don't see where you're coming from. You won't accidentally press the PS button, you hands will never be on the upper part. You'd have more chances to accidentally press it if it was in the under part.

The buttons looks like it's the same than with the PSP now, I don't know what they would suddendly be a problem. Besides, they are still bigger and more spaced out than the DS...

As for the shape, the current PSP is having this rounded shape almost exactly. Do you at least have a problem with the current PSP design?

Anyways, while people might have their esthetic problems I see WAY BIGGER and more important issues that this PSP is implying, like encouraging a futur world of exlusively digital distribution. People have no idea how they don't want this to happen. It all sounds cool in their PR but they will tell you anything in order so they can build they fiscal paradise.
