Archive: 4 posts

hi everyone. i've been told by 2 well known creators that my new level was rather good and that i should joi lbp central so i did. i still have no idea how to post screen shots so it would be nice if someone could tell me. anyway my levels called project mercury and my online names david1209. in the level you are sent to the artic to travel through the snow cliffs and underground caves in search of an enemy base to well... blow up in a blaze of glory. i have spent a lot of time on this so please play. it includes paintinator (wooh!) global lighting switch (wooh!) and all the rest (not quite as wooh). i have also put some cutscene like moments in inspired by darknessbear (litledeadspace) which should liven things up and boss battle (easy-medium difficulty) so please please play and if you like dont forget to heart! feedback appreciated 2009-05-30 16:18:00

I, for one, enjoyed this level. Your comment really struck a chord with me on my level. I went to your level and noticed that it wasn't your typical H4H level, but a level that actually had work put into it. You used sticker switches. You made your own characters, and it only had 10 plays. I have to throw a heart your way on my main account, but I did heart it on my secret account. ^_^ And welcome to the forums.2009-05-31 02:13:00

I really enjoyed this one. Excellent aesthetics and models, nicely done boss... this level definately needs more plays.

Couple things:

On the part where you go over to the bridge to the right, then go down and jump left into a cavern - it was a bit fiddly for me. While jumping, sackboy tended to go drift back into the back plane instead of jumping into the cavern. there is 2 possible ways to solve this:

a. Make the edges of the cave more vertical so sackboy doesn't drift into that plane or

b. Put a bit of really thin dark matter (so it's invisible) in the thin layer right in front of the jagged rocks so sackboy doesn't drift back there.

Another thing that would definately liven this level up a notch and give it a totally professional feel - put a bit of movement in the soldiers. The soldiers seemed a bit more like part of the scenery than soldiers.

But, these are minor points. You got a star from me.

Just played it a couple of hours ago...
Pros:
- some scenery looked really cool, I like the cave the most!
- cool use of sticker
- nice turrets and boss

Cons:
- the soldiers looks... well just didn't like em
- while some parts look really cool others were kinda :/

Suggestion:
- sticker some of the soldiers down. You can easily knock them over

Well rated 4 stars but hearted cause I liked it
