Hehe. This is the response EVERY teaser will get for the next few months. Every little image MM release will be overhyped with no effort on their part lol. Part of me wonders how much of an accident that whole twitter fiasco was.

I never actually played ico, but I remember seeing it & thinking it looked great at the time. Wait and see...

If you have a ps2 hidden away somewhere, dust it off and get this game. This is such an enjoyable game.

Hey guys! Yeah, I got this from Mm as well via an attachment in an email. It is valid - I'm speaking with Mm right now, making sure we're allowed to publicly share it (which we are). So, there you go. Speculate away! 2009-05-29 14:19:00

I thought ConfusedCartman would receive it too.

However xkappax keeps twisting my arm to post here more often.
So I thought you would all like to see the little teaser asap.

And yes, to confirm, it's allowed to be shared publically.

No, backwards compatibility was taken out at some stage. (That's for PAL PS3s anyway, not sure about the other versions)
Edit: Just checked, the newest version (80GB, 160GB) have no BC at all. No matter where you bought the console.

Only the 60gig launch model from Japan and America are playing PS2 games. All other PS3s aren't compatible. PS1 games can be played on any model.

They should render some thumbnails of looooooooooooooooongcat materials. We should then be able to vote for the ones we want just like hearting in the game. The best ones would rise to the top and they should pick out one each week and include it in whatever they're releasing. Material of the week.2009-05-29 15:37:00

I can't believe how many people are saying they've never heard of or played Ico! It was IMO the best game on PS2, and even better than its "sequel", Shadow of the Colossus.

It can be hard to find these days (I had to resort to ebay for my copy) but it is well worth it.

I certainly hope no. That would kill the sales like crazy.

In fact, I absolutely doubt Mm would ever do something so stupid. Unless it's free, of course.

You would be surprised by how many people isn't very happy about how the multiplayer lags and wouldn't really like a pack of stages ONLY for multiplayer. In fact, I definitely wouldn't like that at all. It's cool if it has multiplayer areas.. I would get some people to play with me and get the stuff, but I'd rather play those stages alone also.

Anyway, I trust MediaMolecule. Even though I was surprised by the poor to average support of the community (as in, not having a good site to keep it all together, scores STILL not working and stuff like that.. though they are doing it now, finally), they obviously know how to manage every other aspect of the game.

@Ranger: Wouldn't that require tons of space?

Actually not that much. People are constantly downloading games and patches that are 1, 2 gigs. Installs on games goes up to 5 gigs. It's rare a PS2 game is reaching 4 gig.

What they would so is simply put a bigger harddrive in the PS3. The lastest model is already 160go.

Ah they keep on changing their mind anyway, they had it then they didn't and weren't gonna, then the brought it back then it was gone again and now they talk of bringing it back later. It probably will happen again, but I'm not giving up my old hardware.

I'm soooo praying my 60gig won't die anytime soon

Ico was pretty big and revolutionary for its time. Right now, it's a decent game. I wouldn't be surprised if people didn't enjoy it that much.

It's like saying Super Mario World was amazing. It was, 20 years ago, but it's still a good game right now. Regardless, I'm glad to see the variety in all of this DLC. After MGS and KZ, I was getting tired of war-themed content.

OOOOOOHHHH!!!!

So, so, so sweet. Oh, man am I a happy camper.

Though I'll admit, judging by the teaser image - this looks like a costume/sticker pack through and through. I mean look at the picture - the entire background is stickers. We see a couple of costumes. And keep in mind that ICO, while seminal, while amazing, was really a sleeper hit. A lot of people don't know what it is. Judging by the severe lack of actual playable DLC released by MM (that is, ONE MGS pack and a monster-pack that didn't really have a level so much as a gallery of stickers), this probably will NOT be playable content.

That said, do they usually release teaser images like this for wee little sticker packs? Prove me wrong, Mm, oh sweet merciful baby GOD, prove me wrong.

ICO for LBP?? This is the best day of my life!

Well most games of PS2 don't really exceed the 3GB, and home is around 3GB in total(once it's fully released) and they already did this with SOCOM confrontation for PS3 (kinda)

EDIT:@rangerzero: GTA san andreas was around 3,92GB, almost 4GB (I know you said rare, but it's one of the few games that go so high.)

And so it escalates

'I heard it's massive! Haha I bet you'd need a disk for it'

'I heard the DLC is coming on a disc!!! Maybe there will be a midnight release with MM staff!!!'

'I heard MM are going to sign blu rays of the DLC!!! Plus there's a Sainsbury's right next to Game so we can get a Chocolate bar while we wait!'

'I heard that the new DLC is coming with it's own range of food products!!'

That said the picture looks promising; if not a MGS pack something like the monster pack seems likely. If it was a gung-ho pack then I'd like to see some good puzzles in LBP which we oh so lack at the moment.

whats ICO?
Here you go. (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Ico)

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are two of my favourite Playstation Games.
Incidentally, they are also two of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Everything from music, character design, artwork and architecture...

So yeah, this DLC announcement sure makes me giddy

For those who haven't heard of it or at least tried it, I wholeheartedly suggest you give it a shot. You might be surprised with what you find.

If there's team ICO dlc for LBP, then I am all over that.

And for those who don't know team ICOs games, be careful what you say. I'm pretty sure it's blasphemy to say anything bad about them.

I loved Ico. It was so good I think I've played through it 3 times now. I think what they did best was give a sense of emotional attachment to the girl character. You really did care about what happened to her. I don't think they would be able to develop such an attachment within the realms of LBP, but you never know.

But Ico does stand as one of the greatest examples of the gaming public being idiots. An incredible game, but I believe the reviews were average/good. Yet everyone who has ever played it considers it an absolutely incredible game. Still though, it hardly sold at all when it was released. It was re-released with Shadow of the Colossus, yet it still did not sell hugely.

In my opinion Ico is the better of the two. SoC was good, but Ico was even better. Let's hope the downloadable content is good. I could see them doing obvious costume stuff, but there is potential for a melee weapon, and not just a melee weapon but one that can be set alight / turned electric / has plasma etc. etc. That could really open things up in terms of puzzles and challenges. They might also do some cool stuff with monster AI for melee situations...

Ah, it's just really cool. And all from a screen shot and fond memories.

*cough* aherm, anyways lol to be honest i dont think this is the "bigger then MGS" pack that Mm is talking about or is being rumored about, heres what i think it is.......FINAL FANTASY 7. i mean come on that was a pretty big game in its time and still even now me and some hardcore fans play the original and we watch the advent children movie. and besides, it was announced with mgs at e3 and such so i think its the biggest pack ever to come out, especially since its taking forever to come out, confusedcartman since you talk to Mm any chance you can squeeze info on the for when sephiroth and the FFVII pack comes out?

Since we don't yet have word on this thursday's DLC, (if there is any this week) maybe it'll be for this week. Hmm, two costumes seems short for a level pack, or for anything with the current output. Maybe there'll be Queen and Shadow-creature costumes as well.2009-05-31 05:13:00

Wow! I saw this pic yesterday, I thought it was fake. This would be awesome!

Eldrazor, fantastic idea! After beating the game, there hasn't been a lot of reason my girlfriend to play with me aside from just screwing around community levels. Most aren't nearly as involved as the mm levels.

And you can't find Ico very often because anyone that's actually played it has held on to it. Maybe try a flea market. It is dated, but once you accept that, it's a good game.
