Ok, here we can all talk in one area instead of four different threads. I'll say that i have the game and am working on a review ATM.(check blog in coming days) I must say that this game is awesome, What do you guys think that have it? I would strongly suggest it, plus added bonus of the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta is great on it's own. I say buy it in short, but i just thought an official thread for it would be a nice change.2009-05-29 01:50:00

I just bought it, and it's much better than I initially anticipated. If you do not have the money to buy it, rent it. Trust me, it's worth it.2009-05-29 02:08:00

This game is fun and I enjoy playing it.
Let me reiterate:
This game is fun and I enjoy playing it.

Took me all of a three hours to accomplish the following:

Bury Trish, standing, up to her middle in concrete
(By walking towards her during a cutscene)

Meet the world's longest-armed man - his arms were quite literally ten feet long.
(His hands were attached to a hobo barrel - his character model was ten feet away from the barrel and rather than moving him to the barrel they wrote special code to CAUSE HUMAN FLESH TO BE ELASTIC)

Bury a Reaper up to its waist in a train track, so that his head poked out the bottom and his feet poked out the top.

Meet the man who fell for the longest amount of time - Once I kicked him into the fence, I waited minutes for him to finish his falling animation. I left before he stopped flailing.

See the amazing Teleporting Man - namely,, me - teleport directly into line-of-fire from a gatling gun. From my safe place twenty stories above the gun, to ten below. (THE CUTSCENES TELEPORT YOUR CHARACTER)

Watch a horde of shielded Reapers materialize around me while walking around the town looking for a mission - the five in front proceeded to fire bullets and the five in back joined them, killing me instantly.

Listen to a man speak while I was pumping 10,000 volts directly into his eyes, and not only does he not flinch, he does not even suggest that perhaps electrocuting friends is not nice.

Fly through stone, be unable to climb ladders, survive falling forty stories after being knocked off the building by the point-blank shot of a sawn-off shotgun, survive hitting a speeding train while grinding at nearly the same speed, in the opposite direction, befriend Conduits in one mission and be attacked by them in the next, see the same 'All enemies defeated' message for 50% of the missions including the ones during which no enemies are spawned

And SO MUCH MORE!!!

I'd also like to note:
Every. Single. Object. In. The. Game. Has. Horrendous. Pop-in.

So, my review goes like this:
Game is worth 20$ tops. Entire QA team is fired and blacklisted. All 3D animators who allowed the elastic flesh through the system, fired. The team (or as seems more likely, single person) who built the collision models for complex buildings is fired. Each person who left the default victory message 'All enemies defeated' in their mission file is fired, unless the condition for that mission is defeating all enemies.

Angry eyes. Low quality game is low quality.

Other than some pop-in. and horrendous would not be a word I`d use for it, I haven`t encountered too many bugs other than the usual clipping isssues in 12 hours of play so far. I`m loving it.2009-05-30 01:03:00

My problem is probably not helped by playing MGS4, which is darn near perfect.

I've played MGS4 through at least five times now, and have noticed exactly two things that I could improve - Snake's eyelashes are too straight, and one door handle used in a cut scene is a low-polygon model.

Some pop-in is fine, if it's distant. Most games do have some, because it's necessary. I don't fault that. It's when it's constant, nearby pop-in that I have to be angsty at it. These are not distant pop-ins - I am standing on a girder and the drum can directly under me disappears and reappears as I shake the camera - that's just poor programming. Or when a squad of enemies quite literally appears on top of me.

I still have fun bombarding groups of enemies as I static thrust above them I just think they could have had a simple check to make sure things only appear when off-camera.

I am borrowing the game from my friend... Yeah. I may get it for my birthday, but nowhere sooner- don't get me wrong, it RAWKS, but seeing as how my friend is letting me borrow it (which surprised me that he let me borrow it so soon), it wouldn't make sense to spend 60 bucks on it just yet... So yeah.

Anywho, awesome game :O

Funnily enough, every time I watch the cut scene this door annoys me xD

It's the only thing in the game that isn't perfect!

That and Snake's eyelashes.

Playing the Demo I had the feeling this would be a pretty silly game with some interesting gameplay.
I enjoyed monkeying around the city, blasting baddies and frying neon signs, but the story (Even with an interesting premise) seems very silly and the Voice Acting, particularly for Cole, is just... Bad.

Might Rent this game, but really doubt I'd buy it 'less I got my hands on some bargain bin copy.

Sasha says 'Ooooh, my delicious Cole' at one point.

Voice acting is a little weird, but not too sub-par in my eyes. It's more the sync of voice to character that fails. There's little to no emotion conveyed.
Oh, and someone (I think it's Roger the Engineer) says 'Holy censored that was awesome' - deadpan - after you blast away a squad of Dust Men. Quite hilarious.

Dust Men or Transients, choose one and stick with it you silly game you.

If you really don't like the fences you can always just jump through them (walljump towards them at an angle repeatedly until you warp through). 2009-05-30 16:36:00

The fact you can't shoot *Through* chain links is what bugs me the most. I mean I get the logic behind it with an electrical surge, but it's not exactly like they haven't been taking plenty of liberties with the laws of physics already in this game.2009-05-30 21:56:00

After playing and loving the game, I would have to agree that the pop-in is kinda out of control, for me its the worst when your rail grinding on the train tracks and whole sections of rail in front of you hasn't loaded yet, it really takes me out of the worlds atmosphere.2009-05-31 01:37:00

I got the game yesterday and though the visuals arent the most polished ive seen, I think they are just fine though i'm usually not fussy at all with graphics. The missions have been pretty fun so far, apart from a few side missions which i keep messing up.2009-05-31 13:07:00

Well, first off all, I love the dome. It is INSANELY fun. And for a game this big, the graphics are decent. About the pop in, I've only had one bad situation relating to that; I was walking up to a lady to receive briefing; exactly half a second before I press triangle TWO KAMIKAZE REAPERS appear out of thin air exactly 4 feet away. So she begins talking and I, of course, die from the unrelenting terrorist blast of those two demons.

I'll have to see whether Prototype or this is better. Then I'll but one or the other.
