Hi All,

I'm AAAlone, the author of three levels in LBP (see my post in the level show case) I was lead to this forum by brnxblze, who took interest in my plight when some jerk copied my Moving Parts level and published it as their own (see https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=p=211665 for more information). Based upon the support I've recieved so far this is a great community and I'm lucky to be a part of it!

Cheers!

Hey, I saw the thread about your stolen level

Wish I could help, but my ps3's incapacitated at the moment...and I won't be able to connect online when I get it fixed

But I'll try to check out a level or two (or 3) of yours at my friend's house sometime!

I played your level and LOVED IT...until I got stuck in the pod with the rotating background with Dex for 6 minutes. I think it was caused by a lag issue or something. Anywho, I still rated it 5 stars for the concept and execution (dare I say it is better than Walter-Kovacs' Which Way Is Up?), I feel for you about the thief.

WELCOME!

so, brnlxe (sorry about misspelling )... I would assume you are from LBW, then? Hm, we get a lot of refugees from there... :O

Welcome anyway, and sorry about the level-copier.

This a great place with even better members.

Welcome to LBPC from Blighty!

When the little pod got stuck were things moving behind it? Had it moved at all... it must have or you wouldn't have spotted red butterflies... hmmm... It moves left accross a static background, then left accross a rotating background, then up accross the rotating background, then left against static again, and then it should dump you out to the left. If I knew where you got stuck I could trouble shoot a little better.

(Now if that li'l spiel isn't further proof that I'm the author, then I don't know what would?)

I've tried, but it says the that PSN name isn't registered. I suspect either he has me on his ignore list, or deactivated that name.

Probably for the best, as I may have said some things that got me banned from the PSN.

It's been great so far. It's certainly great to be able to talk about the vile thievery, name the culprit (gordy2007) and blow off some steam (mildly as is my way) without worrying too much about moderators censoring me!

Welome! I read that thread too and feel really bad that stuff like that can happen in LBP. "Karma" has a way of taking care of it but it doesn't make it suck any less.

Hope you like it here - it's a very friendly and active community and the reason I rarely ever go to LBPW anymore. Have fun!

Sad thing about your level being stolen. I just played it, and your very talented. I'm sure you'll make many more great levels. Welcome to the forums!2009-05-29 01:39:00

Welcome! Glad you made it!

Sorry about what has happened to your level. I agree with Morgana things will work out eventually, but yeah... it really is really awful. I have had one level plagiarized heavily by a few creators (very badly) and not sure what I would do if I had it copied and republished.

I was able to play your level the other day and it is really a great concept and can't wait to check out your other ones!

..again, welcome!

BLASPHEMY!!!

No really, now I must play this level. I'll be back on my PS3 for the first time in 4.5 months next week, and I'll make sure to check this out.

Welcome to the forums! Have a nice time around here. Your Moving Parts level is a masterpiece and hopefully the stolen version will fall off the Highest Rated page.2009-05-29 17:15:00

Welcome to the forums. I loved your level. Very cleverly designed. Its a pity what has happened but you have come to the right place to get over over it. I myself have had the exact same thing happen with 3 of my levels. (bad ida one day when I was in a genorous mood) Its a real shame but sure you live and learn as they say.... welcome to the forums again 2009-05-29 17:29:00

Welcome to LBPCentral AAAlone! You may recall my PSN ID from LBW as well.

Regarding your issue with "Moving Parts", my wife and I are "totally up to speed" on all that has transpired there, and believe me when I say that.

Since my wife, Lady_Luck__777, can spend many more hours on LBP than I, and she has a curious nature about her, she has perused through every comment left on your level, (using abbreviations for the rest of these names for a reason here) as well as "the gord's", "the hopp's" and "the klash's" published copies of your level. IMO, "the hopp's" and "the klash's" copy of your level are not helping the matter either.

As a side note, several individuals who like to use LBP's "Cloning Technology" (lol), even though they may state in the description and comments that it's to pay homage, etc., realize that only a very small percentage of the people playing that level will actually read the description and comments. The net result is they acquire Creator hearts, which boosts their status, no matter how they try to spin it. History seems to repeat itself on LBP, if you know what I mean. Just check the comments in some of the other cloned levels.

Sorry for ranting there, but some of my wife's ideas have been used by others, and credit not given at all, which I find very distasteful and infantile.

I hope you get this resolved. My wife played your level, hearted, 5-star'ed and left a glowing comment. I plan to do the same.

Again welcome, and I'm glad you are here fellow Creator!

Welcome and Enjoy.

I came across Gordy's copy today. Left a nice comment for him. The whole list of comments makes a brilliant read. I just hope he sees them.

Welcome, good to have you on board! I just played through Moving Parts and was HUGELY impressed. I've got my pitchfork handy for going on an old-fashioned villager-mobbin' along with everyone else here.

And also might I say, it's cool to have a Seattlite amongst us. I live in Vancouver myself, but come to Seattle quite often (I wish to God we had Trader Joe's in Vancouver!)

Did you go to Sasquatch (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=11950) this last weekend by any chance?

Wow! I hope you all aren't getting bored of me saying it! Wow! I am truly overwhelmed by the response here. Creators I have admired and creators I'm sure I will learn to admire. Honestly I feel like I'm repeating myself here, while at the same time would be remiss if I didn't say THANKS once again.

Jeez! If I'd have found this forum earlier, I'd have dropped LBWS much earlier! There's essentially one respondent to my (non-moderated) post over there regarding this issue, and that one (brnxblze) is from here! I look forward to when this all blows over and I can engage in the kinds of dialogue that I prefer-- honest critiques, free exchange of ideas and advice.

@ Walter-Kovacs-- your level is awsome! In my opinion it is a differnent animal than mine. Perhaps a branch on the same evolutionary tree, but different species. One thing yours did better, is the re-use of an already traveled path. When you go back to the start it's a whole new set of challenges in the same space! GREAT!

@ Wexfordian (and all others with a similar experience)-- Sorry it happened to you too. I think the worst part of it is the fact that our mistake was in being generous. What times are these when generosity and naivity are all but synonomous.

@ Rick_Rock and Lady_Luck_777-- Thanks for your support! I've played the Lady's aquarium level and loved the serenity of it. I can see why someone might be inspired by it, I just hope they used that inspiration responsibly.

I'll message Lil-Klash and recommend he(?) pull his dupe. I think he only intended to keep it up until my original level gained momentum.

@ Chicago51-- I'm beginning to suspect gordy may have gotten out of Dodge so to speak. I can't message him, and searching for his levels (by author) doesn't turn anything up. I really do hope he reads some of those comments though... I can't wait to catch up with the ones that have been added since I last looked!

@ Teebonesy-- Nope, no Sasquatch for me this year, though I did like the line-up. It's a great venue, but distance, parking, crowded festival scene etc is a bit rough on an old recluse like me. Even Bumbershoot (more conviniently located) is a bit too much of a circus for me. I like the small venues (The Tractor, The Croc--though I haven't been there since the re-org). On the other hand I saw Tom Waits at the 5th Ave theatre and that was friggin' awsome! Hmmmm... Maybe I should do a Tom Waits inspired level...

Whew! I'd better get back to work before the boss gets suspicious!

AAAlone.

Just played Moving Parts. Obviously I gave it a 5-star, hearted it and you.

I also left a comment, which I'll share here. "The level you created is sheer ingenuity at a Mastery level".

I also suggested you get that Level Showcase thread going here, so we can all review and get you spotlighted. Awesome level!
