Possible to trigger a speech bubble AFTER the player has passed a point?

Archive: 8 posts

Wondering if I could do this with an emitter or something, I want the player to walk past a point in the level at which point the camera will shift and a speech bubble will pop up behind them.

Is it possible to attach a speech bubble to an object then emit it behind the player?

Just attach a proximity switch to it and you can put the mouth wherever you want2009-05-27 15:32:00

Yeah just as Wexfordian says. I used that very thing in my Arabian Adventure level recently to show greenchampion calling for help from up above.2009-05-27 16:42:00

Yeah, you can do all sorts of tricks linking logic systems into speach bubbles, but a simple prox will meet your needs.

On a side note, I only realised a couple of days ago you can control camera objects with switches

you can control cameras with switches, but keep in mind that your sackboy still has to be in the camera zone.

True, but it means you can avoid the massive fuzziness on camera zone edges, or have a custom area shape for the camera zone.

Another FYI on this: One thing that has annoyed me repeatedly... Once attached to a camera, a switch cannot be removed without deleting the actual switch or the camera. So if you are using the same switch to control multiple events, including the camera, and decide to change the switching, you will be unable to select (and hence remove) that particular cable/cord. Not a big deal - but I wish I had known it in advance.

What I've done to get around this is to select and copy the camera, place it next to the switched one, then delete the switched camera.
