When did you first hear of LBP?

I apologize if this topic has already been posted, if it has, feel free to close.

I was just wondering when people first heard of this game and what they thought of it. Personally, I heard about it from a friend at school sometime at either the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008. I watched the GDC trailer than came in 2 parts where the game was first introduced and if I remember correctly, I thought it was alright, but wasn't all that excited. Recently, like 2 weeks ago, I thought of this game again, and started browsing the web about it and have become quite hyped about it and cannot wait till it is released.

I just said KZ2 R2 GoW3 and FPS games.. but then he mentioned LBP and I looked it all of the trailers available on Gametrailers and I've been looking into it ever since lol. He showed me a KZ gif and I was in love.2008-08-31 20:52:00

Saw it on IGN after GC 07. Was interested, but never fell in love with it right away. A few months later, when more and more info started coming out, I liked it more and more. Eventually, I've come to be obsessed with it.2008-08-31 21:10:00

Last year, but didn't think anything of it. Didn't see any videos or anything, just screenshots, and just skipped it. Then a few months ago i watched some videos and found out about it and was proper amazed. Since then, it's one of my most aniticipated titles ever.2008-08-31 23:30:00

I was instantly hooked the second sackboy started running on the cogwheel. Platformer on crack. No limitations. There wasn't anything to understand. It was right there and I knew exactly what it was. They showed us how the tools worked and it looked so simple and easy.2008-08-31 23:48:00

I found out about it through the first GDC 2007 Trailer. And roughly a year before that I found out about Spore and I thought it was the best game ever, because I have always waited for a game with so much user created stuff and was amazed by the free-roaming in the universe. When I saw the LBP Trailer from GDC 2007 then, I was totally blown away by the 'create your whole physics based game' when he slapped stickers onto some cloth and was running on top of a self-created cogwheel. Even though they didn't show much I kinda already knew how complex it would be. And now there's even more stuff in than I could have imagined.
I now still wonder, if games like LBP are possible, why all 80-90% of the existing & developed games still go******** fps?

Because they've gotten good at FPS's. After a while, it's pretty easy to make one. A game like LittleBigPlanet is so ambitious, and it's never really been done before, so it's obviously much harder to develop. It's amazing, the progress they've made in developing LittleBigPlanet; all common sense tells you it would take 4, maybe 5 years to make a game like it.

Because the market demands more FPS ... unfortunately!
First heard, sometime in February/March when a friend working for a games mag did an interview with some of the creative team. He described the mechanics and I was hooked.

The day it was announced, watched the GDC conference on gamespot on something. It blew my mind. Fell in love instantly. Not sure exactly what it was, maybe it was the art style, maybe it was the multiplayer or user generated content, maybe it was that the creative team seemed so down to earth, I'm don't know. What I do know is that I've been following every bit of news since.2008-09-01 10:39:00

I read a post on IGN about it and searched and found some video and was blown away.

There's something about this game, a gut feeling I have, that makes me think that in 1000 years time people will be basing their whole belief system around the ideals it promotes, it will be like Wyld Stallyns (<---Movies Spelling of it) ended up being in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure

I got into it the day it was announced. I really loved what I saw, and starting planning this site within about a month of that. The rest is history.
