LittleBigPlanet @ E3
Archive: 124 posts
I just wanted to let you guys know that I will be at E3 next week giving some tips to floorgoers, showing off some user creations, doing PR and having good times with LittleBigPlanet and Mm at the Sony booth. My official schedule at the LBP/Sony booth is: June 2nd: 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM June 3rd: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM If anyone else from LBPC is doing that as well or is planning on attending E3, let's all meet up! If not, I'll be starting a twitter (shudders) specifically for E3 and hopefully I can send y'all some juicy tidbits on LBP when it hits. You should start to see some official stuff come down the pipeline on the Playstation blog really soon regarding what I am talking about, but I do want to thank Leo Cubbin, Mark Valledor, and the rest of Mm and SCEE/SCEA for everything that has happened so far. And of course, LBPC for giving my levels a chance and being an awesome source for all this. You guys rock! I know I've been out of the loop for awhile, but my lack of activity has not been without progress in LBP (on top of starting my MBA and getting promoted). ~__^ Anyway, I'll let you guys know as much information as possible before the Sony ninjas come and assassinate me. Who knows, some new stuff might be there as well. So let's kick off this thread with some possible reveals to what we might see at E3 for our favorite game, LBP!!! | 2009-05-27 03:13:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Man, I wish I could go - I don't have the money or resources! Still, I'll be keeping tabs on E3, so I'll keep an eye on LittleBigPlanet as well. Have fun and good luck! | 2009-05-27 03:21:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
I wish they would hold e3 in NYC... I wonder what Mm has to present I'd be willing to bet that there'd be a lot of people interested to see Mm's next move following their acceptance of about 1000 awards last year | 2009-05-27 03:24:00 Author: Aurongel Posts: 221 |
Man, I wish I could go - I don't have the money or resources! Still, I'll be keeping tabs on E3, so I'll keep an eye on LittleBigPlanet as well. Have fun and good luck! To be honest, there was no way I would have paid $400 to go on top losing out on a couple days of work. Granted this will be my 3rd time going to E3, it'll be interesting seeing the other side of it. At least I'm not a booth babe... or am I? :hero: But yeah, like I said I'll set up a twitter (ugh) to let you in on some stuff @ E3, assuming I can tell you guys. | 2009-05-27 03:27:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Sweet gig man...so are you getting paid by Sony/MM? or are you just getting a kicka$$ opportunity to rock E3 and get some inside info? | 2009-05-27 04:55:00 Author: Walter-Kovacs Posts: 542 |
Nice!! I'll be sure to follow that twitter account. I wonder what Mm has in the pipeline for LBP? Possible reveal....perhaps something surrounding that **** Sephiroth costume!! Seriously guys, remember the first time we saw that thing? Neither do I, it was THAT LONG ago!! | 2009-05-27 05:28:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |

It's cool to think that some of the best LBP creators are gunna come out of the virtual world and have a real-life tea party with each other! Have fun! | 2009-05-27 12:08:00 Author: Leather-Monkey Posts: 2266 |
That's seriously cool. I wish I could go, but the limitations of the world outside the internet prevent it. Good luck with the presentation! :hero: | 2009-05-27 12:34:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |

Awesome stuff. E3 sure is shaping up to be interesting this year. I'll be looking forward to hearing the news on it (can't really afford to go, being from Quebec and all ). | 2009-05-27 13:53:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
Did you make a level for it? Publish it online too please And, if possible, post a video or something? Good luck on your presentation, man! (Probably won't need it anyway ) | 2009-05-27 14:11:00 Author: AwesomePossum Posts: 446 |

Wait a sec, Sony or Media Molecule are inviting creators at the Sony booth for the LBP stations!?!?!??!!???? . | 2009-05-27 15:08:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Did you make a level for it? Publish it online too please And, if possible, post a video or something? Good luck on your presentation, man! (Probably won't need it anyway ) LOL. Well, I am working on an E3 edition of the Azure Palace or something like that. | 2009-05-28 02:00:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
LOL. Well, I am working on an E3 edition of the Azure Palace or something like that. Oh fu-...! It's you! ****, what luck :O Is this an official announcement for your next project my good sir? | 2009-05-28 02:07:00 Author: Aurongel Posts: 221 |
Awesome! I wish I could go, but being 15, broke and stuck in England with an expired passport makes it seem unlikely... Anyway, I'll be sure to follow you. Anyone know if there will be any full length E3 vids? I want to watch! P.S. New announcement = image import/level packs and ICE! | 2009-05-28 02:08:00 Author: alexbull_uk Posts: 1287 |
Let us know how it goes! Hopefully Sony marketing listened to my feedback from GDC and setup a larger space + microphone for you guys! | 2009-05-28 06:16:00 Author: snowflakecat Posts: 102 |
It's not set up in a room like GDC. It'll be on the show floor so I don't think there's a need for mics... unless we happen to be on a small stage or something. | 2009-05-28 07:05:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Mm asked you to come with them to E3? | 2009-05-28 10:24:00 Author: olit123 Posts: 1341 |
That's seriously cool. I wish I could go, but the limitations of the world outside the internet prevent it. Good luck with the presentation! :hero: Theres a world out-side the internet? :O... Lucky! E3 is apparently going to be HUGE this year. I don't think it will be as disappointing as last years E3. NOTHING happened there. | 2009-05-28 11:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
has anyone thought of LBP on PSP?! ... I mean, they could be showing that... or... not... >_< | 2009-05-29 05:00:00 Author: Yarbone Posts: 3036 |
Fun stuff. It's nice that MM is showing off their creators. Sure beats that Patch PR-failure. So this new version of the Azure Palace is an upgrade of the original, or is it just a demo? | 2009-05-29 05:53:00 Author: DarkDedede Posts: 672 |
So this new version of the Azure Palace is an upgrade of the original, or is it just a demo? It's an upgrade with a couple new things to change up the level. Obviously thanks to more knowledge of the creator and the newer creator packs that have come out, I've been able to cut its thermo down 25% | 2009-05-29 06:26:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
http://twitter.com/donkeysh0w I'll be using that if you guys wanna follow. Plus I apologize for stupid tweets that will definitely show up, LOL. I'll be at the booth today so hopefully I can find out some stuff! | 2009-06-02 14:27:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Oh man, I learned some things about LBPs future today at E3... from game changers to pretty interesting DLC... :3 | 2009-06-03 04:49:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Game changers? Spill now! Nah, I know you can't, but gets me pretty excited! Can you give a hint though, maybe some ps3 to psp communication? | 2009-06-03 04:51:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
Game changers? Spill now! Nah, I know you can't, but gets me pretty excited! Can you give a hint though, maybe some ps3 to psp communication? Still in the works like Alex Evans pointed out in the GamesRadar interview. I will say they haven't forgotten about certain DLC though. :3 But yeah, the game changers are very significant. That is all for now. =P | 2009-06-03 05:00:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Will anything be shown during the week? When Sony started talking about LBP, I got all excited... and then they trailed off into that "Mod Racers" game... ****, I was and am ******... | 2009-06-03 05:05:00 Author: FULLGORR Posts: 245 |
Aside from LBP PSP, I don't think so at least from what I know. I did manage to get a bunch of newbies into wanting LBP during my time at the booth though. xD | 2009-06-03 05:07:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Aside from LBP PSP, I don't think so at least from what I know. I did manage to get a bunch of newbies into wanting LBP during my time at the booth though. xD I asked you this on twitter... but now that you're here... I was wondering how many planes there are? And if it is still possible to move your hands/ slap? Thanks! | 2009-06-03 05:10:00 Author: FULLGORR Posts: 245 |
Nice, drawing people to the game...keep that up! It's always great to have more people in the lbp community, as long as they don't HFH! | 2009-06-03 05:13:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
I asked you this on twitter... but now that you're here... I was wondering how many planes there are? And if it is still possible to move your hands/ slap? Thanks! I posted a video in the LBP PSP thread, but I only found two planes. As for hand movement, it didn't seem like I could considering there is not L2/R2 or right analog. You use the left analog nub to move around. Nothing happened when I messed with the d-pad though, so facial expressions might not have been implemented in the demo. Loading times suuuuuuuuuuuuck though (off of the PSPgo). Other games did not have this issue. Again, demo version so I can't truly judge it yet. | 2009-06-03 05:19:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Well gamespot had an article saying psp 3000's load time was worse, so I'm definitely seriously considering the go right now... (but that does make sense, the game's running right off the go's drive...) | 2009-06-03 05:21:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
I will say they haven't forgotten about certain DLC though. :3 But yeah, the game changers are very significant. That is all for now. =P The Sephiroth and Bee costumes maybe ? I cannot wait for the announcement of these game changers! | 2009-06-03 05:32:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Oh man, I learned some things about LBPs future today at E3... from game changers to pretty interesting DLC... :3 ...if your not gonna drop it... that is cruel. I'm 43, father, husband, employee, LBP denzien. Pm me. I can keep a secret. It's just you and me... and I don't know no one... | 2009-06-03 05:35:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |

OK serious question (the one gravel/brnxblze/evanb/I asked still needs reply in form of pm!), is your video HD or HQ? Cuz HQ works now... | 2009-06-03 05:42:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
LOL you guys. Seriously, I can't tell unless I have permission. As for the vid, I thought it was HD considering I haven't compressed it or anything and it was recorded in 720p. =( | 2009-06-03 05:45:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Well maybe in a little while it will be...just have to wait more | 2009-06-03 05:46:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |

As for the vid, I thought it was HD considering I haven't compressed it or anything and it was recorded in 720p. =( LOL I know but there was no hurt in trying right ? Tried to force it to load hd (&fmt=22 at end) did not work yet... I know...I dunno about everyone else, but I was just joking! But gamebreakng...there must be some really MAJOR announcements coming (soon I hope!)! | 2009-06-03 05:54:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |

Oh man, Mm is following my twitter now! Should I be happy or scared about the Sony ninjas lurking around the corner... This should help (warning: blood/swearing) : *Link Removed* In all seriousness though, you should be fine as long as you don't reveal major spoilers/industry secrets. Remember to use spoiler tags! :hero: | 2009-06-03 15:58:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
The Sony bloke from yesterday isn't very happy with you! Image (http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb88/waaagh_my_ride/Lolagesate3.jpg) But seriously don't see why anyone would be angry with you, you haven't said anything. | 2009-06-03 19:53:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
Also avoid using the words "Computer", "Cockpit", "Happened", "Osiris" and the like, Sony isn't very fond of those words. :hero: On topic : hope you're enjoying your trip to the E3! Just knowing there's a playable demo of LBP on PSP over there makes me really regret that I couldn't go. Think you could sneak us some info about that Castlevania Bloodlines PSP thing they stealth-mentioned too? | 2009-06-03 20:10:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |

Very cool Donkeyshow thanks for the updates. Hows the show look is it really packed and loud? (Psst) can you get any info on Fat Princess, I'm looking forward to that game and haven't seen any info on the game yet. The show floor is pretty loud, but it is nowhere near as cr azy at it was back in the day. I kinda like it like that. As I was working at the LBP booth today, Mark Valledor introduced me to Leo Cubbin, one of the producers of LBP. Really awesome guy and it was cool talking about LBP, the vision, etc. Would've met up with Siobhan Reddy as well, but she was stuck in some meetings. Tomorrow should hopefully work out though. As for Fat Princess, I'll try that out tomorrow. As for LBP info... wait... anyone download the FF7 from PSN lately? | 2009-06-04 05:22:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |

Was geruvah invited to E3 by Sony? Or is he actually part of the game industry? I heard that you had to be part of the industry to get in. | 2009-06-04 19:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
Was geruvah invited to E3 by Sony? Or is he actually part of the game industry? I heard that you had to be part of the industry to get in. As far as I know, he was invited to showcase LittleBigPlanet as an employee of Mm. | 2009-06-04 19:40:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |
Well, the only thing I could really tell you besides a hint I mentioned a while back is that the game changer will really change the landscape of a lot of levels. In my mind, I think it's bigger than the Paintinator and a lot of people will probably go back and alter their stuff because of this new game changer. As for when it would hit? It's definitely not anytime soon. :3 I also met Siobhan Reddy today. Again, it was really awesome talking about LBP and what they want to bring to the audience that's out there. Can't wait for what the future holds for LBP cuz it's exciting to say the least. ^^ | 2009-06-05 06:30:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Change...the landscape? Like, literally the landscape, or...? And can you tell us if they have a relative timeframe of when this update will come (if you can't be specific on the date, that's ok, just tell us if they have one?)? | 2009-06-05 06:55:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
Extra layer(s)? nah, that's too much... (wink if its right or close ) | 2009-06-05 07:02:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Sorry guys, no more. =P But yeah, plans are in place like most of their stuff. | 2009-06-05 07:20:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
The plans are in place, meaning they have a timeframe? I'd think it would be coming sometime this year then! | 2009-06-05 07:21:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
I'm guessing a player pickup then; if it was to change a lot of levels it would have to be something pretty generic like a double jump or a speed boost. Thinking about where you can fit something on the sackboy there is the back, the left arm and possibly you could fit some large boots or a 'halo' which went over clothing. My ideal thing would be some gloves that allow you to grab onto some special material but only when wearing gloves, that's not going to be what's comming though Analysing ftw I must say even if I'm wrong | 2009-06-05 08:47:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
Hm, I like that glove idea. I was the game-changer would be the option to make levels in three planes or two planes, to make them PSP compatable(sp?). | 2009-06-05 08:59:00 Author: iiiijujube Posts: 594 |
Maybe the ability to make and climb ladders. or maybe not just taking a stab in the dark. | 2009-06-05 09:19:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Can't you at last give us somehints on what its called? Come on, you know you want to. | 2009-06-05 09:34:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
maybe not just taking a stab in the dark. Hahaha Water. I still think you should change the thread title, because without any juicy info here, you're well off topic maybe change it to "I'm at E3 and you're not. nah nah-nah na naah nahh." because that's what the topic of this thread really is | 2009-06-05 09:53:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |

just wondering, is the psp lbp graphics that bleh.. the balls things dont look very nice and theres no shadow or anything. It's not the best PSP graphics ever that's for sure. But remind yourself that the PSP is pretty much like a PS2, you really won't have a graphical fidelity near of what the PS3 can offer. . | 2009-06-05 13:01:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
Hahaha Water. I still think you should change the thread title, because without any juicy info here, you're well off topic maybe change it to "I'm at E3 and you're not. nah nah-nah na naah nahh." because that's what the topic of this thread really is LOL. Sorry about all that. I really didn't mean for it to come off that way and I honestly did do my best to pry out as much info as possible in regards upcoming stuff. Like I said, what I couldn't give you guys was already mentioned (because seriously, I can't), but since the SOTC stuff has been mentioned... don't go expecting "game changing" stuff from it. It's definitely not ice. As to what some of you guys were stabbing in the dark with... cross your fingers. Also, PS3-PSP functionality is something that's in the works, but doesn't seem like a huge focus. LBP PSP really seems more like LBP Lite than anything else. | 2009-06-06 01:46:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Hey, donkey show, how did you get into E3? Is it because your level got featured on QORE or is it because you work in the game biz? | 2009-06-06 01:59:00 Author: evanb Posts: 40 |
Hey, donkey show, how did you get into E3? Is it because your level got featured on QORE or is it because you work in the game biz? I am in the industry but it wasn't because of that or Qore really. Just like DarknessBear (the guy who made LittleBig Dead Space), we were asked by Sony to represent LBP since we were local. snowflakecat did the same thing at GDC. I also found out why the Azure Palace and others were moderated. :hero: | 2009-06-06 03:30:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
I also found out why the Azure Palace and others were moderated. :hero: Why was that? I really couldn't find any logical reason for it getting moderated, I'd really like to know why they did that. | 2009-06-06 05:58:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Why was that? I really couldn't find any logical reason for it getting moderated, I'd really like to know why they did that. On the moderation side back when the whole madness was going ape **** with my level and many others, apparently SCEJ's group of moderators were jumping the gun way too fast when hitting the button to moderate levels. For example, they'd get good griefs of people in "copyrighted" costumes in levels such as the Azure Palace, World of Colour, etc. and would moderate without proper investigation. Obviously they streamlined their processes between all their divisions so this would no longer happen. | 2009-06-06 06:52:00 Author: gevurah22 Posts: 1476 |
Ah, so that's probably why Yggdrasil by Dan_e2040 got moderated as well (I think that was recently though :S .) I didn't even get to play World of Colour or the original Azure Palace, kinda disappointing to know that that's the reason so I'm sure you must've been ****** when you heard that. | 2009-06-06 07:01:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
Hey guys.... there's something I happen to know but I'm not going to spill it for everyone... apparently, a group creators are creating levels for a company (or companies...) I've tested out one level and it was pretty good... I won't say much, but the level was based on an RPG game... not ICO either. I probably shouldn't have brought it up... but I did. There's some juicy info I guess. | 2009-06-06 07:08:00 Author: TheJollyRajah Posts: 466 |

Donkey, if they didn't make you sign anything, they can't get you in trouble... It wouldn't really put him in good terms with Mm if he told now would it? I mean, they trusted him enough to tell him some secrets, why would he do something to break that trust. | 2009-06-06 07:44:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
I was just joking of course, I did take that into consideration.... Well, I guess we'll have to wait. | 2009-06-06 09:54:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |

... O_O. Using my powers of obviousness, I can only assume... Final Fantasy? O_O. ... And is THAT what johnee is doing? I'll give you one more clue, it's not FF either. It's probably something you wouldn't have expected. But that's all I'm gonna say. So no more from me. | 2009-06-06 16:40:00 Author: TheJollyRajah Posts: 466 |

So no more from me. could you at least tell us if that group works in the gaming industry or not? That way we would know what to expect ;-) (ie "the patch" quality or .. ?) | 2009-06-07 03:06:00 Author: snowflakecat Posts: 102 |
could you at least tell us if that group works in the gaming industry or not? That way we would know what to expect ;-) (ie "the patch" quality or .. ?) Ah come on now! I only know of one person in this group and this is his first time ever working for the gaming industry. | 2009-06-07 05:30:00 Author: TheJollyRajah Posts: 466 |
Anyone see the LBP PSP video from E3? Way to keep almost everything under "the wraps" Media Molecule. They hid or spun the gameplay video so much that I couldn't see anything... There must be something big coming soon! | 2009-06-07 05:57:00 Author: Sage Posts: 2068 |
Y'know, Mm's not the lead on lbp psp (though they are contributing...alot from what I understand...) and there are vids on youtube of gameplay...gamespot had a live session with it that pretty much showed all of 2 different levels (1 early story level and 1 challenge level) so there's a lot out there to see about it | 2009-06-07 06:26:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
