Hey, joined a few minutes ago. Got linked here from littlebigworkshop looking for teleporter and logic gate advice. Liked what I saw so I'm sticking around. Hope to get loads of advice here, and hopefully learn enough that I can return the favour | 2009-05-26 14:44:00 Author: leimrod Posts: 7 |
I think you'll like it here more than at LittleBigWorkshop. Welcome! | 2009-05-26 14:46:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
I think you'll like it here more than at LittleBigWorkshop. Welcome! Well I haven't even posted there yet so I couldn't say  Only got LBP a week ago and it's already 100% complete (including the MGS pack) and I'm now working on some level ideas. However the competition is so stiff here it will really be a mountain to climb to produce anything like the quality in the Spotlight threads. I've published 2 levels, but they are really just WIP stuff. Next I'll be trying to build a boss with as many logic gates incorporated into it as possible. I'm torn each evening though, I'd been training a lot in SFIV, and now LBP is eating up a lot of my time... choices choices | 2009-05-26 15:02:00 Author: leimrod Posts: 7 |
Hello from the USA! Enjoy your stay and you will find alot of people like you here We are all just a bit 'crazy' for LBP. Lots of helpful people here. | 2009-05-26 15:08:00 Author: AJnKnox Posts: 518 |
Welcome! It's a great site for creator resources and much more friendly and active than the workshop. Have fun and hope you learn lots! | 2009-05-26 16:49:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

Ah another Irish joinee i think that makes 5 or 6 of us now. Here, have yerself a Potato http://www.arabhoes.com/potato-recipes.jpg and...Welcome to the forums! Mmmm. Brings to mind sheppards pie.... and beer.... yum. For logic gates, check out feloneouscat's logic thread in the help/tutorials section. Great stuff. | 2009-05-26 19:55:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
yes welcome welcome Here, have a peanut to go with your potato... its not quite as filling, but its 5x more evil! and DEFINITELY check out feloneouscat's blogs... he is ridiculous with logic- he even has a bunch of levels set up for his logic classes | 2009-05-26 22:10:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
Hey man. Welcome from a fellow Irishman . | 2009-05-26 22:11:00 Author: Burrich Posts: 1018 |
I just ventured over here from LBW myself, so welcome. What I've seen so far is impressive. If you use the F4F option, let me know if it doesn't work, as I set it to ON when I posted my Level in the Showcase, and the F4F is missing in the Title. Thanks, Rick | 2009-05-26 23:55:00 Author: RickRock_777 Posts: 1567 |
Welcome! Nice to see another one of us joining. We're very friendly here. I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. Hope to see you around. :arg: | 2009-05-27 00:32:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |

Sorry, what is F4F? Thanks also to all the welcomes. Boolean logic I find fairly simple as I've got a degree in electronic engineering under my belt, I'm having a real hard time though with wobble bolts, especially when I want to have numerous joints all moving in sync (it's part of a mech-unit I'm working on atm) | 2009-05-27 11:06:00 Author: leimrod Posts: 7 |
Sorry, what is F4F? Feedback for Feedback, it's how LBPC combats or counters all the Heart 4 heart nonsense on craftEarth. Theres an entire thread dedicated to getting valuable insights on your creations... it also get you playing other levels giving feedback in return, creating; ideas and friends as you go. It is a core principle here at the Central. As far as wobble bolts go, they can get a little wonkey in succession can't they? I always try trial and error but in reality it's more like error and error... Good Luck with the mech I'll be looking for it. | 2009-05-27 13:35:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
Welcome! I hope you enjoy it here. Working on a mech, huh? I'm always interested in checking out other people's walkers and mechs. I'll be sure to keep an eye on your progress. I don't know how far along you are, or if you're making a biped, but I suggest you check out my thread on bipedal motion here, it could help out : https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=8255 I'm also currently in the process of making a better way to manage multi-joint leg motion. It should make the job of setting up proper walking motion a whole lot easier. I'll be posting a thread about it soon. | 2009-05-27 14:35:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |

The walking motion has been a real pain, but from that thread you linked that you posted I should be able to iron out those issues. I'll post in that thread with any more questions I might have. I already have a rough WIP mech published if you want to take a look. | 2009-05-27 14:43:00 Author: leimrod Posts: 7 |

I'll post in that thread with any more questions I might have. I already have a rough WIP mech published if you want to take a look. Reverse-knee joints aren't much different than standard ones really. It's simply a matter of reversing the walking motion. Adjusting the wobble bolts and pistons is a pain, but it goes a lot better if you set them up one at a time. Get one leg to perform the correct motion, and then simply get the other one to do the same motion, but two steps ahead. There's several people on the forums who have made successful walkers (both bipedal and quad) so don't hesitate to ask questions, either on my thread or in the Help section. | 2009-05-27 14:57:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
