Hi and Welcome as I haven't met you before. LOL at your username. I guess you have to be careful how you spell that and even more careful how you say it !

Your level looks very interesting. Even from these pictures your ship and whale look stunning and it looks like you're a fan of making your own detailed objects which is always a plus with the creators on this forum.

I love making custom stuff myself although it does tend to fill the thermo like crazy if you have lots of detail. I'd rather have a short level of my stuff than a long level of story mode stuff though any day.

No-one can accuse you of not putting enough pictures that's for sure. I'll take a look and leave you feedback asap.

If you'd like to see an example of my stuff try out my 2 newest levels if you can. The first 2 in my sig below.

Hi and welcome to the forums! I had just had a play of your level, the pictures looked really good, anyway, here are my thoughts as I'm playing.

+ Liked the visuals at the start, nice polluted industrial look.
+ Excellent movement on the boat, the way it rocked on the waves.
+ Custom content and characters
+ Nice whales!
+ I loved the start section.
+ Nice visuals at the cave section
+ Good custom enemys
+ Really nice idea using the blocks to cross the spikes, I hav'nt seen anything like that before, but it works really well
+ Excellent platforming sections
+ Brilliant idea with the ski lift.
+ Liked using the water to extinguish the flames.
+ Nice visuals for the north pole
+ Good looking angel

- This is a nitpick, but I could see the wilderness background poking through, it sort of ruined the industrial look you had so well. You could perhaps add in a custom background to hide it, and use the global lighting tool to fade in the snowy background?
- Infinite checkpoints ruin any sort of challenge a level has.
- I'd personally add a magic mouth with cutscene camera to the switch after the spinning snow wheels to show what the switch did, its fairly obvious but it might be to some players.
- The night section was very dark on my tv, I had to alter to gamma, perhaps a switch with a global lighting tool attached to light up the level a tad would work here?
- The darkness made it a problem for me to see the clouds, even with the gamma right up, changing my TV settings is a little much
- The dove section is fustrating, very little room to avoid the lightning. I'd remove it completely, to get right to the end of the section (or what I think is the end) and then get hit is awful. It seems more blind luck than skill. Unless I'm missing something.
- I managed to fall through the cloud just before the dove, and activate the checkpoint below, it was quite a lot of backtracking to do, I'd block this off

I was really enjoying the level until the dove section, then I got unbelievably frustrated at it. Like I said it seemed to be down to more luck than the players skill. I seriously had to stop there for the health of my controller If I have missed something obvious altering you to the lighting, then its my fault, but really could'nt see anything.

The level was excellent up until this point, with excellent visuals, good story and the right amount of difficulty. There were a few problems I found other than the dove section but they were minor.

**** and beautiful for now, please fix the dove and I'll gladly replay, because the rest was ***** and a heart no problems

I've gotta go with most of the stuff Grantos has said, it's a beautiful level with some really nice sections in it. The creature design is great and I love the boatride with the whales and the animation on them, although it would be good if they could be emmitted from under the water. Also if you were to add wave cut outs like the MM levels then personally I think it might work better. As for the swap between the two areas, would it possible to do a short night-time sequence and do the transition during that? I don't know if it would look any good but it might work.

The dogs looked good but they often ended up stuck leaning back after jumping, and you can just run around them so they offer little threat.

It's great that you've done an ice level and didn't make me jump around on glass for the entire level, the platforming in general was good, although for the most part not that challenging. Parts like pushing the cubes down onto the spikes below was nice, although you might want to use a heavier material, polystyrene has a tendency to roll out from under you when you run on it. The fire-melting key was nice as well, had me stumped for a mo before I went back to get it!

The lighting and camera angles were in general good, although a couple of places where you have used extreme angles didn't really work for me, but I never like those angles in this game.

When you go up to heaven, I didn't see where I was supposed to be going the first two times, you might want to make it a little clearer where the clouds are. My TV has good contrast ratio (50000:1 dynamic) and is all THX optimised and it was still to dark to see easilly. You could just fire the sackperson directly onto the clouds?

At the gate of heaven, I'm not sure if this was on purpose, but you can just drop down onto the bottom of the cloud and shortcut your way to the key. If it is on purpose, this is great - I was thinking last night that I hardly ever see people working this ability into levels. If it wasn't on purpose, keep it in, it's good!

Then the dove section... I couldn't complete it. Between not really being able to see the lightening, the dove randomly deciding to stop or fly backwards I gave up. Also the checkpoint before that, if you come out and run right and jump it is easy to drop down and trigger a previous checkpoint accidentally, because the next cloud is in front of you and quite large.

So far it's a great level, but I think that dove section needs changing, it just feels too much like pot luck.

Hi . I've played your level and here is my feedback

Pros :
Great design throughout ( at least as far as I got )
Dogs look very good
Some great ideas
Brilliant chair lift

Cons :
Very confusing in places ( more magic mouths to offer a little direction would be nice , especially where you need the water key )

The dogs are too close to the checkpoint. The first one killed me and when I respawned it was right in front of the checkpoint and killed me again as I appeared. Just blind luck that it flipped over on it's back and I was able to appear safely and get past. The other dogs were the same.

At the spinning wheels after flipping the switch to activate the last wheel and getting to it I found it to be too close to the wheel before it and kept hitting that one when wanting to jump.

The light thing that throws you up was very difficult aas I just kept dropping back in the same place. Some instruction is needed or as the other guys say make it throw you to the right anyway.

Have to totally agree about the dove section. That was a great idea but too frustrating. It doesn't really work and needs a checkpoint immediately after the first part. I got across once by pure luck but died at the next part and got respawned before it again and never managed to get across again. The dove movement is too erratic, when you let go it almost throws you off and it doesn't stop close enough when you eventually reach the other side.

That part ruined the whole level for me but would love to play again if that is changed as the aesthetics were excellent.

I like this level. It was all going very well until the the aforementioned dove scene. I actually managed to get through the clouds but the last jump to safety was ruined by the dove pulling back!!

Maybey I'm missing something, but apart from that, the pace of the level and visuals were great. Well placed music and the scenes were broken up nicely.

No you're not missing anything mate. That's exactly the same problem I had. The 2 times I did manage to get past the clouds the dove backed up as soon as I tried to jump and left me in mid-air. As I said previously it needs to go closer and preferably stop to allow you to jump off.

A couple of things I forgot to mention before :

1) The switch at the water drop part needs to be placed on something not grabbable as sackboy tends to keep grabbing the floor when it's grabbable rather than the switch which gets really annoying.

2) Way too dark in some areas for no apparent reason.

The lighting tool is a great addition but a lot of people ( not just you ) seem to be using it now just for the sake of using it rather than because it's necessary.
