Know a way to recover lost levels?

Archive: 11 posts

If MM can do it or not?

I was trying to copy my METAL SLUG SOLID! level back to my moon to work on it a little bit... in some retarded state of confusion I accidentally deleted it instead. So it's gone without a trace, is one of my prize levels that I slaved 80 or more hours on the publish the first time in December, and have probably invested an extra couple hundred in reworking it over time... I'm distraught about it, and have no idea whatsoever what to do.

I wonder if there's a backlog database of published levels on MM's server side... I wouldn't know who to contact. Any ideas, or should I just move on?

Either way, it's a sad day for me... R.I.P Metal Slug Solid. You were my favorite level.

Samething happened to me, but with a not so important level, but still wasn't able to recover it...
I doubt its possible to get a deleted level back
Tho i have thought of a way to back up levels, publish your important levels twice, 1 normal, the other lock/copyable then send a key to a 2nd acc, and copy the level there, if anything happens to the level you'll have a copy at least.
Might be a bit time taking, but better than losing hours used in building the levels.

I actually do have another account for that too... alot of my older stuff is saved on it.

I don't know what happened... I was trying to copy and delete stuff from my moon and organize things, and kept getting that stupid profile full message, and a bunch of notifications about peoples scores, so I was hitting triangle and circle like crazy, and my copy had failed twice so I had to keep redoing it. It was ridiculous.

This would have never happened if we were able to use as much of our HD space for our profiles as we wanted, instead of having the limitation. Even with the community objects and pics off, and no costumes saved, I can still only have a couple level files on my moon without my profile being full.

Que sera... I'll get over it.

That sucks!

I don't think they can recover the one from your moon but could they change the one you had published to a version you could copy back down to your moon?

I agree about how frustrating it is not to be able to store levels on the HD - I've opted for a flash drive that I pull copies of my save game data to every few days and then store on my MAC just in case.

My condolences if it's irretrievable.

Even if it's just for no reason - I'd email Mm to see if they have a way to get it back. If you've put in 100's of hours on a level then you shouldn't give up!
Sorry to hear about it though

Man, that sucks! This is something that I feared doing myself after I accidently deleted a non-so-important level. I think Morgana's solution is the best bet. If you can get ahold of Mm somehow, then maybe they can make your published version copyable and you can get it back. Again, that whole situations sucks though.2009-05-27 12:39:00

Thanks people... lol imagine how I felt about the matter, Ccub.

I emailed Media Molecule, but I doubt they'll find the email for a year or two heh, but I actually did get a reply the other day from SPAFF on PSN, who was pretty sympathetic and said they were going to look into it, but not to hold my breath. I told them thanks either way, but here's hopin'

I've really been thinking about trying to rebuild it, but better, more focused and a little therm smarter. I'm pretty sure I can redo almost every boss without too much trouble, but that tank is the tough part... that thing was a nightmare to build.

I just remember this second that I sent the Metal Slug to someone on my friends list - the only person who got over 5000 points in the contest. I'm gonna see if he still has it and will send it to me.

That sucks, as far as I know there aren't any ways of retrieving a deleted level. Good luck with retrieving it!2009-05-30 14:43:00
