2000AD DLC Thursday 28th
Archive: 95 posts
Borag Thungg, Earthlets! Coming this Thursday to the PSN Store is a set of five costumes for LittleBigPlanet based on characters from classic British sci-fi comic series 2000AD, but can you guess which five? Over the next few days we?ll be revealing the costumes, with a look at the characters they are based on, and some specially recreated comic covers based on original covers from back in the day. Why? Because we can! You?ll have to wait until Thursday to see them all, when we?ll also have an exclusive Mm interview with series creator - Pat Mills - for you to read whilst you wait for the store to update. Today we look at two of the most iconic of all the 2000AD characters, including a character once played by Sylvester Stallone in a movie adaptation - Judges Dredd & Anderson. http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/comic01-judgedredd-373x500.jpg More info here: http://www.mediamolecule.com/2009/05/25/2000ad-costumes-judges-dredd-anderson/ Judge Dredd http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/judgedredd-hd-500x281.jpg Senior Judge Joe Dredd, one of a number of clones of Chief Judge Eustace Fargo, is the most famous of the elite corps of Judges that run Mega-City One with the power not only to enforce the law, but also to instantly sentence offenders ? and (if necessary) execute them. Joseph Dredd was cloned from the DNA of Chief Judge Fargo, the first chief judge. Their growth was artificially accelerated so that they emerged in 2066 with an apparent physiological age of 5, with all the appropriate knowledge for their age electronically implanted in their brains by computer during gestation. The name Dredd was chosen by the genetic scientist who created them, Morton Judd, to ?instill fear in the population.? Dredd puts his duty to uphold the law above everything, and is often heard proclaiming ?I AM THE LAW!? Judge Anderson http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/judgeanderson-hd-500x281.jpg Like her namesake Cassandra from Greek mythology, Judge Anderson has psychic powers. In addition to being able to sense approaching danger and foresee events of the near future, she also has telepathy. This allows her to read other people?s minds and use mental attacks. These abilities allowed her to be a member of Mega-City One?s corps of Judges as member of the Psi Division, which includes all Judges possessing psychic abilities. In contrast to Dredd, she has always been critical of the weaknesses evident in the Judicial system of Mega-City One. Also in contrast to Dredd, she has a sense of humor and she is able to form personal friendships with fellow Judges. She is able to feel doubt and remorse, two feelings that Dredd doesn?t allow himself. "Come back tomorrow for another costume reveal!" Here is the #3 costume: Johnny Alpha Sackboy: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2429/3565732565_14f2f494f5.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3574/3566546792_f808ae6e47.jpg?v=0 Some new ones too: As we?ve already said oh so many times now, coming this Thursday to the PSN Store is a set of five zarjaz costumes for LittleBigPlanet based on characters from classic British sci-fi comic series 2000AD. Each day this week we?ve been taking a closer look at the characters behind the costumes, by copy pasting things from wikipedia and then editing them to make sense. We?ve already revealed Judge Dredd, Judge Anderson, and Johnny Alpha and today we look at another iconic character, Rogue Trooper! Temporary glitch: Rogue Trooper appears to be going commando and not wearing his trousers - new render coming soon! http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/trousers.jpg Rogue Trooper Rogue is a G.I.or Genetic Infantryman - a genetically modified, blue-skinned, manufactured, elite soldier on Nu-Earth, where a perpetual war between the Norts and Southers is being fought. The war has seen all manner of chemical and biological weapons being used to crush the opposition, resulting in the poisoning of the planet. Troops of both sides must now live in enclosed cities and fight in protective gear. http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/comic01-roguetrooper1.jpg Through genetic engineering, the Southers develop a race of superior warriors called the Genetic Infantry, soldiers who are immune to the deadly atmosphere of Nu-Earth. The Souther High Command deploy their secret weapon in an airborne assault, but a traitor betrays the secret of the G.I. to the Norts, and the soldiers are massacred. Rogue, the only surviving G.I. goes AWOL in order to track down the Traitor General responsible for the massacre. Along the way he thwarts numerous Nort schemes, discovers and inadvertently destroys the only portion of Nu-Earth not contaminated by chemical weapons, and is betrayed by every female character he ever encounters. The Rogue Trooper costume will be available as part of the 2000AD Costume Pack released this Thursday, 28th May, on the PSN Store. Come back tomorrow for the final costume reveal, and an interview with 2000AD creator, Pat Mills. Nice, I won't be buying it for costumes of things I don't know though. I like the fact he's standing on H4H Down with H4H'ers! | 2009-05-25 13:08:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
LOL, yeah. Unless they're stickers of some sort in a pretty hefty quantity (Not like Norse and Egyptian Mythology! C'mon! Ten stickers and two costumes?!?), I'll probably not be buying it. | 2009-05-25 13:10:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
Hang on - what if this front cover is showing some stickers we may get; speech bubbles, 2000AD.... and H4H | 2009-05-25 13:12:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
Heh nice poster, wonder if the H4H is hinting towards anything Here's info on 2 of the characters - not sure if you missed it on purpose Judge Dredd http://www.mediamolecule.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/judgedredd-hd-500x281.jpg Senior Judge Joe Dredd, one of a number of clones of Chief Judge Eustace Fargo, is the most famous of the elite corps of Judges that run Mega-City One with the power not only to enforce the law, but also to instantly sentence offenders ? and (if necessary) execute them. So Mm have taken note to h4h? I find that pretty suprising. Anyways I'll probably only buy this pack if it has levels in like the monster pack and the MGS pack. I don't buy the mini-packs. | 2009-05-25 17:04:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
more subliminal messages! http://spamtheweb.com/ul/upload/250509/59692_dsad.png lol, silly smiley face! why is that there? it's funny, anyway | 2009-05-25 17:10:00 Author: MarkoWolfy Posts: 445 |
Looks very good; I'll be getting these! So Mm have taken note to h4h? I find that pretty suprising Don't forget that the storyline of the MGS pack was about destroying a factory that created boring, repetitive trophy levels, that other scourge of the LBP community! | 2009-05-25 17:43:00 Author: mmmpieisgood Posts: 6 |
Looking good. Whether you know the series or not, these costumes will have some useful bits for creating your own. I was never a huge fan of the Judge, but I liked it enough that I'll be picking these costumes up just for fun. H4H'ers... PREPARE 2B JUDGED!! | 2009-05-25 17:43:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
I think I might have to pick it up for the hair alone! Thanks for he heads up! | 2009-05-25 17:57:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
I used to love the 2000AD comics when I was younger, the film sucked big time though. I'll be definetly buying this. | 2009-05-25 18:05:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

Hearing Stallone's "I AM THE LAW" still gives me the goosebumps are they sold sepratly.sorry if i spelled it wrong. I think so, especially when it concerns so many costumes. | 2009-05-25 18:20:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |
Thanks,because i just bought burn zombie burn and now i only have $6.33 left. | 2009-05-25 18:23:00 Author: g-1reaper2 Posts: 22 |
shame that its the same costume but with a helmet or hair. I want a new level pack | 2009-05-25 19:23:00 Author: groble Posts: 223 |
Yeah anderson's hair is sexy. Douby I'd be using these costumes as-is, but they have some good components to them. Then again the only costume I do use is Kai (with added nose ) - that costume so perfectly fits LBP it's unreal. | 2009-05-25 19:29:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
Gonna put the foot down on H4H Aboot time. | 2009-05-25 19:34:00 Author: Loius Posts: 342 |
I really hope they make a level pack with this. I don't care so much about the comic, but I would love to see a set of story levels about H4Hing. | 2009-05-25 20:44:00 Author: Sackdragon Posts: 427 |
The only way I could forsee stopping H4Hing is some kind of more reliable good grief system just for H4H. How long cold they have been working on this? Or, it could just be a playful jab at their game. | 2009-05-25 21:19:00 Author: iiiijujube Posts: 594 |
Anderson's hair is beautiful but i must refrain from buying this pack because i get no benefit out of it other than a sexy sackboy... WILLPOWER FTW!! | 2009-05-26 08:48:00 Author: Noremac469 Posts: 143 |

does anyone know how much the costume pack will cost? about ?5? | 2009-05-26 19:05:00 Author: PlayBeyond Posts: 123 |
That would be pretty awesome - that's a really good background. But I think it is just a costume pack, please though Mm prove me wrong The Monster Pack ad just says "Stickers and Costumes", but we ended up getting that plus materials, objects, decorations, music, and a background. It could be the same case with the 2000AD pack. | 2009-05-26 19:08:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |

No. At least in the US we have the Monster Pack (stickers and costumes) and the Monster Kit (all the stuff except costumes). This Judge Dredd pack is not a level kit, it's just costumes and stickers. . | 2009-05-26 19:21:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |

The costume pack didn't come with any stickers though. | 2009-05-26 20:05:00 Author: Sack-Jake Posts: 1153 |
The costume pack didn't come with any stickers though. But the RDKF, WipEout, and History costume packs came with stickers, since there were no levels. I remember this comic too! If memory serves, I think XBox released a Rogue Trooper video game a few years back. I gotta' say, they did a GREAT JOB on this costume!! The original this pays tribute to. http://www.scifi.co.uk/Rogue-Trooper-500.jpg | 2009-05-27 22:47:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

I know the chances are pretty remote, but I'd still love to see a Hammerstein costume from ABC Warriors. http://www.2000adonline.com/books/assets/covers/abc_warriors_meknificent_seven.jpg | 2009-05-27 23:05:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

Awesome stuff, I'm looking forward to getting this pack, the helmets look cool. The only thing that's bothering me is that the helmet in the first poster for the Judge Dredd costume looks way better than the one coming out. Oh well, I'll get it anyway. | 2009-05-28 05:55:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |

I bet they'll still make you guys pay 5.99 even though it should be less over there... | 2009-05-28 15:09:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
?4.79 surely it should be less :/ I'm not sure though with all this economic stuff happening xD also where's the Judge Anderson costume? it isn't sold separately or mentioned in the description for the full pack | 2009-05-28 15:12:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
?4.79 that sounds about right | 2009-05-28 15:19:00 Author: PlayBeyond Posts: 123 |
So fail lol. MM had the big thing about not having the trousers on and the picture on the store doesn't have them either | 2009-05-28 15:24:00 Author: Shermzor Posts: 1330 |
?4.79 surely it should be less :/ I'm not sure though with all this economic stuff happening xD also where's the Judge Anderson costume? it isn't sold separately or mentioned in the description for the full pack They mentioned it on Mm's site: note that Judge Dredd and Judge Anderson come as one selection when buying individually, if you get our meaning there. | 2009-05-28 15:24:00 Author: Zwollie Posts: 2173 |
?4.79 surely it should be less :/ Bear in mind how weak the pound has been recently, and we always got a bit of a raw deal even when it was strong. | 2009-05-28 15:26:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
just purchased the pack is great! it was 4.79 but why is the rosette of sirus sticker labelled as an accesory but then in the sticker section? :S i think they messed up i just tried on all 5 costumes and Alpha is my fav | 2009-05-28 15:43:00 Author: PlayBeyond Posts: 123 |
the price * 2000AD Costume Kit (?4.79/?5.99) * Judge Dredd Costume (?1.59/?1.99) * Hammerstein Costume (?1.59/?1.99) * Johnny Alpha Costume (?1.59/?1.99) * Rogue Trooper Costume (?1.59/?1.99) | 2009-05-28 16:06:00 Author: sjbluedog24 Posts: 80 |
thats spooky you were right the 5th costume is hammerstein Well, I was thinking if they were going to pick from different 2000AD titles, this would be a great choice, plus he was directly linked to Judge Dredd`s time line later on and he appeared in the film. I wish they had gone with the version I posted instead of this earlier "original" version. http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/h/hstein.gif Still, the costume looks great and has tons of potential! I see they even put in the tiny treads on his feet... great job Mm!! | 2009-05-28 16:56:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
Wait, they're separate from the trousers?! (referring to Alpha's backpack and belt) I guess the backpack and belt are "body" items, while the trousers are "legs"... I kind of wish Hammerstein's hammer-hand had been listed as a separate "hand" item - I'm a little more interested in what I can turn new costume pieces into as opposed to what they naturally represent... Hammerstein's torso looks promising for stuff I want to do, but I don't like that hand... (Along similar lines, I really wish Old Snake's eye was separate from his hair... as a "glasses" type accessory... It's one of the few costume accessories in the region of the eye that actually emits light...) By the way: I really like the Judge boots and want to use them without the belt and such - could anybody tell me whether the belt is part of the Judge "trousers" or the Judge "Body"? | 2009-05-28 17:29:00 Author: tetsujin Posts: 187 |
Some really nice costumes, but the stickers are a bit feeble IMHO Not an essential purchase for me - I'll save my moneyz this time | 2009-05-28 17:39:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |

It really would open up our possibilities for creating our own unique costumes. I thought the same thing with Snake`s eye... it would have been great for cyborg characters. | 2009-05-28 17:41:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
It's 5.99 in euros. Not sure about the pounds. And ya don't get a separate costume for Anderson. It's Dredd's body and trousers. All ya get for Anderson is the wig. Still a great pack tho. | 2009-05-28 18:36:00 Author: Chicago51 Posts: 258 |

Yeah I'm not seeing it in the US store either and it's already 12am. Hopefully we get it tomorrow and not have to go through a huge delay. | 2009-05-29 05:15:00 Author: brnxblze Posts: 1318 |
It's in the US store now. I wonder why the store updated so late this week. We got the monster pack much earlier. The Hammerstein is by far the best. | 2009-05-29 07:15:00 Author: iiiijujube Posts: 594 |
I had to get it. Costumes are cool - more stuff to play with yea! Stickers are meh again though. Seems like they hit it out the park with Monster pack... now I'm spoiled. lol | 2009-05-29 07:57:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Yeah, the stickers are so-so. I didn't spot any ABC Warriors stickers, which made me a little mad. | 2009-05-29 08:05:00 Author: iiiijujube Posts: 594 |
does anyone else have the rosette of sirus sticker labelled as an acessory at the top of the stickers page :S | 2009-05-29 13:46:00 Author: PlayBeyond Posts: 123 |
Yes, the Rosette of Sirius sticker is under "accessories". Unusually, so are all the stickers for Killzone, RDKF, Valentines and Buzz. I'm trying to contact Media Molecule about this. | 2009-05-30 17:38:00 Author: mmmpieisgood Posts: 6 |

I'm new, what is H4H? I'm a n00b I know Anyways, I've just downloaded this, looks awesome! It stands for Heart 4 Heart. It's a tactic of spamming levels with comments asking hearts in return for their own. It's used by desperate players to gain the Play trophy. Don't get sucked in! | 2009-05-30 21:10:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |
