Failed To Load Level.....

Archive: 12 posts

I don't know if this is a new type of "Failed To Load Level" glitch, but I recently got it on a level that I was almost done with. It happened when I came back from exiting LBP. I can't copy it, move it, play, edit it, or even publish it. Every time I copy, move, or publish 2 messages pop up saying "Failed to load level" and the other " There was a problem while attempting to (move, load, publish) the level. Please try again later." Nothing I can do...or is there?..Any help please?2009-05-25 06:21:00

I hate to be the first to say it, but you may be out of luck. The only way my level was saved was through a miracle. Not really, but the Cornish Yarg was close enough. If it wasn't for that patch, or whatever you want to call it, I would have never have been able to finish or publish my level. I'm not sure if you've found a new glitch, but that's what I'm guessing. At least, my guess was that the particular glitch that broke my level permanently was fixed through the Cornish Yarg, and that maybe you have found something else that is even more rare. The only advice I could give is to email Media Molecule, go to their website, it gives instructions, type Bug in the subject line. That's what I did, and I know they didn't build the Cornish Yarg just for me, but it was released a couple of weeks after.2009-05-31 19:40:00

;_; Just happened to me as well. Spend the last two days reworking the boss in ToS 1, was just about ready to test it and it fails to load.
The two-headed, 30 Sackboy tall boss is no more. And Spiky the Deaf Porcupine is gone as well. It was my first walking creature with self-made legs.

I'm experiencing this on my two current levels. It was happening sporadically to the completed one, but before today had not happened to the work-in-progress level. Now it is happening to both levels and I am unable to do anything with either.

All is not lost, as I have been publishing locked every time I finish editing. So what's on Mm's servers is current and I should be able to copy them back to my moon. But I fear that it portends impending doom with entire profile.

Any thoughts? Does it make sense to send it (my profile and/or levels) to Mm and see if they can clean it up? Or do any of you have any advice that can prevent this in the future?

Man, I don't know. My levels have crashed ocne like that, and loading them back seemed to work out fine. now I have a secondary account for just backing up my levels.2009-08-22 05:59:00

UPDATE: I copied my levels back to my moon from Mm's servers and deleted the errant versions. Made updates to both and republished. Everything seems to be just fine now. But I am still nervous for my profile. *cowers, quivering, in the corner*

Thankfully I chose to learn from the misfortune of some of my fellow creators. every horror story I've read here at LBPC of lost levels and corrupt profiles has steeled my diligence for performing back ups.

yeah. It's hard to believe that I'm so into LBP.
Normally, I'd have tossed any program this buggy into the muncher and been done with it!

I'm not sure, but my last round of corrupted objects happened after i installed the history pack...I'm more than a little suspicious.

Well this sounds familiar. About two or three weeks ago, one of my levels I'm working on won't seem to save anything but the tiniest change I make. Every time I go to either edit or play the level it always gives me the Failed To Load message on the first try. I can always get in on the second attempt however, but this is really worrying me. I don't know what to do?2009-08-22 19:04:00

I have started having the same problems on two of my levels. Unfortunately I do not have back ups and the levels have not been published. Can I still get them back?2009-09-04 23:55:00

This happened to me before, but after the 3nd or 4rd try it normally worked... but this time... no matter how many times i load the level... it dosn't work.
I also realized that all my mymoon levels have their seal replaced with a "!" mark..... this didn't happen before.

I exited LBP and restarted the PS3, reloaded LBP and then my PS3 crashed... the "!" marks are still there..... and i can't still access my levels.
kinjodourden you might have lost your levels if the level dosn't load after a few tries. Try loading a diffrent level on your moon, return to pod and reload the one that's having the problem. It might work... if it dosn't... sorry your out of luck.

I did some changes to the level last night... but they were not major changes, and since i saved most of my objects into my popit... it probably won't make a huge difference to me....
I don't know if it's a delayed bug from the Firmware 3.0 coming....
