Some other MGS pack act 3 mysteries....

Hmm... If i'm not mistaking, all levels with 1-2 layer Start and finish race gates broke after the patched that disabled the ability to make race gates of different layers, didn't they? Well, seems not all levels broke... http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=384&pictureid=3928___http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=384&pictureid=3929 Apparently it works fine in the MGS level... On that matter. Look at what i found, i think it was found before, but i don't think they showed all of this... http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=384&pictureid=3930 (Me and me, just switched ports back and forth to get there) After passing the finishing gate, if you keep going you'll find a misterious dissolvable material. But! http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=384&pictureid=3931 Before finishing it. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=384&pictureid=3932 After finishing it.... (out of space) Apparently, it dissapeard only after activating the scoreboard, it won't dissapear even if you move it around, or even pass acreoss the scoreboard with it, only if you activate the scoreboard, kinda odd eh? But just how exactly did they activate something by activating the scoreboard iwonder... | 2009-05-24 19:32:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Interesting question that I have no idea how to answer. Nice catch! | 2009-05-24 19:42:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
that dissolve is interesting. I think the race gate issue had been mentioned before when Grantos was building the last Woveneye level. Could they have dissolved it with a proximity trigger set to all players? | 2009-05-24 19:44:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
Easy, they attach a magnetic key on the confetti, and put the switch at the bottom, when the confetti comes down it activates the switch. Duh! | 2009-05-24 19:50:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
that dissolve is interesting. I think the race gate issue had been mentioned before when Grantos was building the last Woveneye level. Could they have dissolved it with a proximity trigger set to all players? Well as far as i know, only 3-layered start/ending race gates worked now, 1 & 2 layer ones broke the levels or didn't work, yet this one's perfectly fine. And as i said, i dragged the block around, even passed in front of the 'dummy sackboy' and nothing happened, only until i activated the scoreboard, so i doubt it was a prox. switch. @Whaaaaale: Of course! Now how didn't i th ink of that.... | 2009-05-24 19:55:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Interesting. If they'd got it all hooked up to when you've finished it could well be something that tells your game that you've completed the level - thus opening up the next one. I dunno though, could be anything | 2009-05-24 20:02:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |

Mine's about the finishing race gate & the dissolvable block that dissapears after activating the scoreboard. | 2009-05-24 20:12:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Mine talked about the dissolve block. | 2009-05-24 20:19:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Mine talked about the dissolve block. Only says its there, nothing more... | 2009-05-24 20:24:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Well i was thinking it didnt activate BC you didnt have everyone. As, the first picture "before finishing" shows you on the scoreboard, and the scoreboard does require all characters to activate. Odd. | 2009-05-24 21:59:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
Now that's quite strange. I think that could be a glitch, or maybe it's something else? Anyways that's a nice find. | 2009-05-24 22:36:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
Thin race gates don't break levels. You just can't make them. I was lucky enough to have a thin start gate saved for some reason, so I have that, and I'm using it in Pinball Wizzard - no problems. | 2009-05-25 00:43:00 Author: Loius Posts: 342 |
maybe you need both players ON the scoreboard? (prox switch on scoreboard) cuz with 1 player on scoreboard the thing wont activate | 2009-05-25 04:07:00 Author: johnrulz77 Posts: 835 |
Maybe it was a leftover. A piece that was meant for some function at some point but became redundant. On some user created levels, if ya fall through the cracks, you can find all kinds of bits and pieces that were left over from the creation of the level above. | 2009-05-25 16:52:00 Author: Chicago51 Posts: 258 |
Eventually do dissolves get dissolved on finishing the level. Should be testable quite easy. Make a level, put a dissolve on the very same spot in your level, make the same things you did and watch if it gets dissolve on finishing the level. | 2009-05-29 11:03:00 Author: Fjonan Posts: 359 |
