LBP Dream Merchandise!

Archive: 26 posts

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd start a thread to see what folks would most like to see as LBP tie-in merchandise. The more we keep pestering the MM guys, perhaps the more likely they are to make some sweet swag!
Anyway, what's it to be - Sackboy Plushy? Keychain? T-shirts? What's your most wanted?...

Custom sackboy plushie of my own sackboy. Martigirl has a friend at her office who is a wicked knitter supposedly so might get her to make me one when I have designed my sackboy.

Plush is a mush, t-shirt is a must...

I wouldn't wear anything with a videogame character/logo on though other than the mario mushrooms... just the way I am.

I'd probably use a sackboy pen if it was cool enough.

I'm a big fan of vinyl figures too - would love to see a sweet sackboy vinyl in 3 or 4 different colorways!2008-09-01 08:15:00

A plushie is my most wanted, I'd like to have about 10 of them made with different materials and costumes and stick them sitting on top of my TV.

Also a keychain with the stylised globe (ie. the LittleBigPlanet) would be really cool.

I was thinking a sackboy plushie that came with lots of different parts you could attach and customise. It would tie in with the whole 'create' side of things and would offer a double-edged marketing campaign, 'Look at sackboy, he's cute and you can customise him, but you can customise him more on LBP exclusive PS3!' etc.2008-09-01 10:49:00

I never thought about that! That could take off! Would like to see iit. Though vinyl figures are smooth right? Atleast they're alot better smooth imo, that would mean ever so sliglty redisigning the sackboys (Material) but tbh I think they would look better Great idea.

Yeah, those Vinyls are smooth. But they'd be a wicked reinvention of the classic sack plushies and knitted versions that are DEFINITELY going to be made!2008-09-04 10:47:00

Sackboy flavoured chewing gum? Just joking. Maybe something a little of the handle like a 'littleBigDineWithMe' dinner set?

Ok, on a series note. Vinyl figurines would be fantastic, and to be honest something not dissimilar to lego could be made. Could be a great way to get kids into engineering (building small contraptions and such, things that can be made in game as well).

You know, I think you're right - there's definitely room for a new physical toy design rival to LEGO (although it is pretty perfect!). Either that or a LBP franchise series like the Batman/Star Wars/Indy lines.2008-09-04 13:27:00

Plushies for sure, but what it they were available at something like build-a-bear workshop. They have a large selection of clothes and objects and whatnot, it would only get bigger with this addition, and you could add phrases that it could say when you press its hand or whatever. Maybe even allow for iron-ons so that you could use 'stickers' like the game. I know that if this were the case, my family would have loads of these little guys.2008-09-04 21:16:00

To be honest I wouldn't use something like a tshirt, the only videogame clothing I own is a WoW jacket.

A poster would be cool, or a calendar, I'd definitely use that.

Posters! Yeah, why didn't I think of that - I'd definitely buy one. Love that collectable postcard/poster set they did for retailers - that was excellent.2008-09-05 10:53:00
