Teleportation Concept

My interpertation of teleportation. (Hey it rhymes!) It's quite crude but it works! Which IS something....
I've also seen Jayden's video of his teleportation and I was wondering how he did it... so after a little bit of experimentation I figured it out! Yaaay!
Please Note: That you'll be doing the F4F on the concept itself, not the level, gameplay and aesthetics.

Seems to work the same as all of the other teleportation levels that I have seen.

- Although you might want to think about having the emitted save point have a longer lifetime so that if someone were to die again in the level they wouldn't have to start the level over.

p.s. you don't need to give me feedback on anything.

I honestly don't really think it matters how you die in the level. Although doing it more discretely or making it happen automatically (so the player doesn't have to run into death themselves to 'teleport&apos would be a better solution. For example, making them step into a teleporter, then emitting the gas which kills them and then they reappear at the new teleporter location. There are quite a few examples around the site of good teleportation devices. If you looked in the object showcase I am sure you could find some good ones pretty quick.

I don't understand why teleporters are so popular in LBP???

Wouldn't a few obstacles between point A and point B be a little more interesting. Just my opinion though. Anytime I am forced to hear the squishy sound of poor sacker getting killed, it makes me cringe. But then again there are alot of other levels out there that don't purposely kill you so if I have issues, well, you know where I can go. I'll shut up now.

Sometimes they could be part of the obstacle or could take you to different obstacles...but I think if you use one it should be because of the theme of the level, not just for the sake of using it...2009-05-21 21:02:00

I totally agree.

It all depends on the situation... for instance, in the current level I'm just finishing, there is no other way to do it.

So, my theory is - if you're going to kill Sackboy do it in the most creative, outrageous, obvious way possible. Make the player CRINGE when they see it, and make it totally obvious you meant to do it.

I figure, if I'm going to kill sackboy on purpose, I don't want it to be a cheap "ppst" sound. I want it to look like I put a lot of budget into it. I want the entire room crushed with everything in it with a huge "crunch" sound.

That's a good point CCubage (and Theap). I suppose you could make an "epic" death pretty interesting, if done right.

Also just for the record (speaking for myself, not sure about Jayden) MM revealed how to teleport in their survival challenge video, a days later (I think) Jayden released his video and since I'd also been working on it I also showed people how to make it efficiently (MM used the scoreboard rather than resizeable spawns).

The reason I needed a teleporter was for Fade Paintgun Facility. In Fade you can fail a challenge and you can't reset it, so I built a teleporter to make it so you can zip to where you were before you messed up.

That should cover everything brought up
