Clipboard Between Levels

Well there's a new capture bug in town Obviously this should be fixed ASAP by Media Molecule. However, let's also add in some additional functionality that will make this particular error less of a problem in the future. The copy feature works great. You drag a box around the object and push a button. You get a ghost of the object and can move it wherever you want and create a new one that is exactly the same with the added bonus of being able to be taken apart. However, you have to paste the object in the level you are currently working on. You can't copy it into another level. When working on a computer you have a clipboard that can go with you between programs, allowing you to copy and paste between multiple files or even programs! Let's implement that on LBP and allow an object in one level on your moon to be copied and then allow you to exit that level, enter another level and paste it. | 2009-05-20 17:39:00 Author: dcf Posts: 468 |
Fantastic idea! I hate having to exit the level I'm working on (due to lack of object SPACE), go into my "locker", recapture the object I need, go back into my level, place and delete said object. This would save a lot of time. | 2009-05-20 19:45:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

I agree with Pinchanzee. I feel it would take longer and be unnecessary for a clipboard mechanic. I mean let's look at the current implementation: create the object, capture it, exit, go into a new level, paste, and you're there. But for those many times when you need something you've already created (like a logic gate, sequencer, or even a specific monster you've created) that you use often, having a clipboard type of application would save loads of time. Since space is so limited in our popits for self-created objects or even stickers, I simply don't have enough room to keep things in my popit that I use often. Altho if you're working on it already you can just capture, paste in other level and deletee from saved objects, it would only take a few seconds more than just copying and pasting in the other level. Or that might even take more after doing so as we might have to capture the object, get a message if we want to capture or just copy it, then paste in the new level, which i would find rather annoying.
