Trust me its hard, and its not called Vertigo for no reason either. Keeping track of everything that is going on is a challenge, but one you won't be able to stop attempting till you've mastered it. The best thing is you get a little further and a little better with each play, its perfectly balanced. I won't be entering the contest, I've had loads of plays (even though I still suck at it). Yeah, I love that old stuff... the games didn't last long, but playing them was like popping potato chips - and you would get a bit further each time and WANT to see what would come next. That's my whole goal here - I filled my object, emitter, and creature brains thermo to the absolute hilt adding different stages that would change the gaming strategy throughout, and make the gamer wonder what's coming next. The simple but eclectic visuals are definately inspired of Tempest 2000, which took the wire frames and added really interesting lighting. Also, just like a classic arcade game - there are 3 lives and you get to cross the finish line every time, so even if you don't get through the whole thing it's possible to rack up a decent score. (on the other hand.... maybe when I open it tomorrow I'll get the reaction "You're kidding, right? My child can do better than that!")

So... right now we have Loius #1 and Wex #2... It's possible to get around 30k on this level, so there's still plenty of room for improvement!

Is the camera centered on not-the-center-of-the-game-area then? 'Cause it looks like I can see the thick rubber on the right side and a sudden cut-off on the left I dunno. I keep getting pulverized by a random fast electric blob after the first two trianglers, and it always comes from the one part of the game area I can't see

The "Vertigo" effect is that the camera itself keeps moving around. Thats the vertigo affect that drives the game. The camera angle is only slightly dropped down and to the left a little, which actually gives a much bigger area to view the screen. They key is to stay in the center and take quick trips out of the center when necessary. I've timed every single obstacle that flies out from the sides to have reason and not be cheap (I spent about 20 some hours carefully timing everything).... I know... couch potato. By the way, Burnvictim.... I don't save my own score (not fair), but I've actually pulled 32,000 in this game by myself. I don't want to give anything away to ones that have not made it to the end.... but the last "unlethal" section is FANTASTIC for picking up tons and tons of combos.

I could've made it if... waaait a minute, Firefox thinks 'could've' isn't a word? >:| ... made it if I hadn't died during the last stage. I had a x10 score in the bonus section, and then I got squished by the bonus floaties. Go me. Had 23,000 about halfway through the bonus section, I think.
