Date of Publishment.
Archive: 20 posts
Think about it, how many times have you seen a stolen item in a level and see the creators fighting on "who made it first" and whatnot, yet they can't prove it as no one really knows which level was publish 1st. So i was thinking that if they just added a "Date of Publishment" on the levels (and maybe date of creation in the objects), this would facilitate the identification of originals and Fakes, wether it be stolen objects or copied levels And maybe the concept of "Share" that was meant for LBP might be regained and encouraged as the theft of objects/levels would be highly reduced by this. So, what do you think? | 2009-05-20 08:52:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
That's not already implemented?! Grrr. | 2009-05-20 09:07:00 Author: Loius Posts: 342 |

I wanted this since LBP came out. I always want to play the creators newest level (most of the time) and not guessing what is what (if it's not a series...) | 2009-05-20 12:56:00 Author: blizzard_cool Posts: 752 |
Yeah it is supposed to be play, create, share. not play, create steal. | 2009-05-20 13:09:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Yeah it is supposed to be play, create, share. not play, create steal. For many big corporations, sharing = stealing. . | 2009-05-20 16:21:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |
I've wanted this for a while too. It would make it so a stolen level would have a much less chance of becoming popular. | 2009-05-20 19:44:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
I agree 100%. When I first got the game I said, "What? You can't see the date it was PUBLISHED?!?" Then, they could add a "Newest Levels" category for all the fresh, seldom-played levels out there. I think if ANY patch was added, it should most definitely be something like this, AT LEAST. I mean, it's common sense, really... | 2009-05-20 21:59:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
Yep yep yep.... this is something that is sorely lacking in the game. Credit where credit is due, I always say. | 2009-05-21 00:17:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |

yea, that would be nice, but i think the phrase you're looking for is "date published" | 2009-05-21 03:05:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
yea, that would be nice, but i think the phrase you're looking for is "date published" The title is just sugesting the main theme of the idea, the actual thing can be called anything else. | 2009-05-21 03:30:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

"publishment" isn't a word it is publish, published, publishing, (verbs) or publication (noun) only dodgy online dictionary's will dispute this | 2009-05-21 22:00:00 Author: XVS1100 Posts: 59 |

And i did indeed say i might make some mistakes.... Tch, ever heard of "letting it go"? | 2009-05-21 22:10:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
I think this is a fine idea, but, not sure it would really change anything much... The fact remains if you leave your level copyable, someone will still turn it around as their own (date or no date). Also, there are alot of no-conscious gadders out there on craft-Earth who just don't care who made it, as long as, it is a good 'rocket cheetah-ing' level thats entertaining them presently. | 2009-05-21 22:20:00 Author: Gravel Posts: 1308 |
good idea! SHOULD be made... but doesn't HAVE to. | 2009-05-21 22:44:00 Author: johnrulz77 Posts: 835 |

I never said they wouldn't get stolen, but if you have a date when you made it, if someone copy-publishes it, theirs will be proved to be published after the original, so they can be sure which is the original. 2. You sure are defending the thieves in LBP aren't ya? Not only here, but in that other thread as well. I bit suspicious if you ask me... | 2009-05-21 23:02:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
You sure are defending the thieves in LBP aren't ya? Not only here, but in that other thread as well. I bit suspicious if you ask me... As well you should, there's honor among thieves and they band together... so be wary. However, I am a pirate... so that just puts me in bed with the baduns... Truth be told... I'm much more scoundrel than pirate! You'd like me Huh? C'mon... this world needs more scoundrels like me. and I ain't defending any two-bit criminals either! or is it either?
