Couple of questions from a newb.

Archive: 8 posts

Firstly, sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, it was the most appropriate section that I could see.

I haven't actually got my game yet, I'm hopefully picking it up tomorrow, but I do have a couple of questions on the game.

I have read that you are able to get extra objects in your inventory, and I see that there is a section here dedicated to sharing these objects, but I'm not totally sure how you actually get these objects in your inventory for use in any levels. Could somebody explain how?
Is there any limit on the amount of objects/stickers/clothes/levels that you can store? Or can you just store as many as you want until your HDD is full?

Thanks.

first, let me welcome you! I hope you'll find LBP to be fun :kz: and yes, this is the right section

1. When you make an object, you can connect it with connectors (rods, pistons) or glue them together. there is a tool that allows you to "capture" the object in the tools section of the pop it (hm, may be in materials too...). Anyway, you can use that to copy the object, and the game fairly accurately determines what you wanted the object to be.

2. There is a limit. i'm not too sure what exactly, but now at least you can fill it to the max without worrying about your PS3... there used to be a "full profile glitch" that would do bad stuff to your ps3 if you had it full, but that's fixed now .

Well, actually that is for the objects/stickers/clothes one- for levels, there is a definite limit. You have a bunch of spaces on your moon. I haven't bothered counting them up, but you'll have a hard time actually needing more .

Also, in case you were also asking, you can publish up to 20 levels. Which is good, since we thought it would be 8 or something before it was released, so it was a surprise to me when I finally got online to see 20 available spaces .

... um... yeah. answered your questions?

Thanks for the reply.
So, for example, if I wanted to copy the object from the following thread;
https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=t=11522
You would enter the level and use the capture tool, and it would then be added to my inventory for future use?

Oh, sorry. I thought you meant capturing ones you made.

For using theirs, well, you can place objects in prize bubbles and place those prize bubbles throughout the level. So basically, you can only get their object from the object showcase if they placed it in a bubble within their level- if they didn't, you can't have it. They probably wouldn't want their creation to just be given out.

But sometimes people make their levels copyable, in which case you can do the first method (after copying the level to your moon)2009-05-14 22:58:00

Ah right I understand. So, for the example I linked to, the poster made it copy-able so you would be able to use the capture tool for those objects?2009-05-14 23:01:00

He made it copyable, so you can copy it to your moon. Thus, the level will technically become yours, and you can do whatever you want with it. So yes, you can do that- you can also mess around with his level- heck, you could technically just republish it as your own :O

(please don't do that )
