Thanks for the heads up on this - I'll try it tonight!

EDIT: It's absolutely true - It's downloading on my system right now. It's nice of Sprint to do this but truth be told - I'd have preferred a free sackboy plushie... *sigh*

I have a UK account, so yes you can sign up for a US account. I did that for Killzone 2 demo back in the day it wasn't in the US store until the game came out. Just say you live in an american city, and make a .com email - not .co.uk2009-05-14 22:33:00

Thats EXACTLY how I'm feeling right now. Betrayed, imo.

EDIT : Im hoping this makes this game extremely popular tho. If this game gets alot more popular, we could expect to see some DLC or a possibility of a full title, and/or online play.

Not really betrayed, just sad that I wasted 10 bucks on this game (haven't played it since I bought it!) and NOW they are giving it away...

Wow I was just about to buy it and when I saw it was free I almost had a heart-attack ! I'm so glad I didn't buy it, I don't have any money so now that I saved those $10 I can use it to buy Marvel vs. Capcom 2 when it re-releases .2009-05-14 23:12:00

Hmm, you would think betrayel would be a feeling that would stem from that.

Ya Halfasack, that would be nice if they got a ton of DL's and released some DLC which might include online play / more game modes / characters all that good stuff. Or like you said a full release for like $40 or $30 would be cool I'm sure. Or if they could make it good enough / hype it they might even be able to get $50-60

You do reallize Canada is part of America, so cursing America would be cursing your-self XD
(And you can just make an U.S. acc to get it you know?)
Anyways...
That's pretty cool, they should do this more often with more games, that'd be awesome

I just really wish I woulda grabbed burn zombie burn and held out. Alas, tis not the case.

American = Anyone from the Americas (North South or Central America.)
If you're reffering to the United States (U.S.) that's another thing.

Usually I hear "American" referred to as a citizen of the United States, usually naturally born. So maybe it's slang on this side of the hemoshpere, not sure. But your right; technically if they would be an American if they were from any of the America's2009-05-15 00:37:00

I've never met anyone who thinks this way in my entire 39 years on this planet. Maybe it's a European thing... but I can't see that as most Europeans consider there to be a pretty big difference between Canadians and Americans. It's pretty well accepted that although we are right next to each other, we Canadians certainly don't consider ourselves Americans (hence the name Canadians). Just to clarify.

Canadians are pretty easy going and get along well with everyone.... until you start calling us Americans. Then the hockey gloves come off. :hero:

Ya I'm pretty sure generally people from the United States are the only one referred to as Americans. Seems like you would be insulted to be called an American, that's not very nice . Although I"m sure we all have our national pride

No, what i don't like is that only people from the U.S. call themselves Americans since its what everyone in the Americas is called (or supposed to be called) just like everyone in Europe is Eropean and everyone in Asia ia Asian...
I just dislike it when they call themselves Americans et they don't call anyone else in the Americas "Americans"...
Seems like they're putting themselves above ebery other country in the continent(s)....

Anywho, lets take this discussion to PM or make a new thread about it so we don't deviate from the topic of this thread...

Ya I know what you mean Silver. I'm not sure exaclty where the origins of classifying United States citizens of American's came from, though it might not be hard to find out. But maybe it's a pretty old origin, and IDK what else you would call us but United Statesisins? I think it would've evolved passed any elitist status by now and just be more so a common deffinition / status.2009-05-15 01:30:00

What do you mean "they" you snooty Canadian? I'm just kidding. When I was in Canada for the band trip I acted Canadian and at Niagra Falls I'd ask people if they were from the US and if they said yes I'd go "PEUGH! I hate Americans! Go eat your McDonalds AMERICAN!".

And you're lucky, Canadians and Mexicans and South Americans, you don't have a country named "United States of America." What do you want us to do, say "I'm a United States of American?" What I want to do is find out who decided to name us the "United States of America" in the first place. We should have a cooler name. Like Mount Doom. Or Mordor. Or the United States of Death.

I love how we call Native Americans Native Americans or Indians. It's so confusing! They're American, I'm not, or something like that.

Lol, I saw this on EuroGamer a few minutes ago and I'm downloading as we speak.

I already had a US account (well, actually I've got alexbull_us, alexbull_jp and alexbull_se for USA, Japan and Sweden xD)

Strange thing is, I'd been considering buying it earlier, and I very nearly did, but I decided to wait until next week... pretty lucky, huh?

P.S. If anyone asks, I live in Colorado.

EDIT: If anyone from other countries wants this, go here: www.fakenamegenerator.com (http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/) and click on the "Go" button next to where it says Country: United States and it'll give you a valid address

You along with the rest of the world thought it had online multiplayer. Main reason it received below average reviews; came up short when it clearly had potential to be a great PSN title. Why leave off online multiplayer in this day and age. Maybe they'll patch it in if this promotion goes well enough...

Probably not though...

Well, it's only fair to call you American since you'd probably call anyone from England British. It's the same thing.
And thanks for sharing this, I guess I'll go make a US account.

Actually your completely wrong on this one... it's not the same thing at all. As a citizen of a Commonwealth Nation, I am aware of the differences.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain is made up of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland (the latter being largely independant now). While it is common for folks to call anyone from the UK British, the same does not apply to Canadians being refered to as Americans simply because we are from the North American continent. The UK situation refers to the union of separate nations, whereas the "Americas" is a matter of geographical reference. The name American more commonly refers to the United States of America specifically.

By your definition, Greenland (which is European soil located on the North American continent) is populated by nothing but Americans... which would also be incorrect.

As for the game and the comments, I'm inclined to agree that while it is a bit of fun... the sixaxis controls are a bit unweildly. It would be nice to play with kung-fu sackboy, but I find our version is is loads more fun!!

Hehe I'm up in Beverly Hills BABY!!

This is an absolutely awesome game, probably the funnest multiplayer experience since when I first got LBP. It reeaaaalllyy needs the online multiplayer but thankfully I have a second controller to play with friends.

Its like gamecube's smash bros... but with more charm and nicer physics.... and lots of fish

"Show me your kung fu skills AHhhhhhhahhhh... with fists of plastic you'll punch and attack"

I just tested the upload to YouTube thingy. Works awesome. I love this game.

Would've been worth buying anyway, in my opinion.

Well, you could get the original through Steam, the one that actually has online play...

Not really betrayed, just sad that I wasted 10 bucks on this game (haven't played it since I bought it!) and NOW they are giving it away...

Haha, I did EXACTLY the same thing.

Tip from a gypsy -

Kung fu juggling

Get the frog by the wall, and just keep him up with a 1 Orb lightning ball. Let him get kinda low before you hit him again. Once you find the perfect rythem, you'll find yourself at gold, or even plastic w/o knowing it. Hope this helps :

Pretty much, but there's a challenge mode when it comes to single player. But you can use bots for multiplayer. And yes, there is a leaderboard.

@phillip: no u

I'm pretty positive there is a leader board for stats.

I've got golds on everything, and plastic on deathmatch. I was like 200 points away from plastic on sharpshooter.

That. (filler)

Yes, you can customize, but not that much. You pretty much just get stuck with parts from the other characters and you can mix them up.

EDIT: perhaps we should make a seperate topic for general discussion? I'm pretty sure this topic was just to inform us that it was free.
