And they were showing a couple of Levels of LBP at Leipzig. My Dad was in the room at the time and said it looked incredibly dull and boring. I guess it just goes to show that unless you know what the game's about, it doesn't look that great.

I agree. 90% of people, if you try to describe the game or they see just a little of it, won't like it. Although, there's about 10% that will like it right away, and 80% of that 90% will like it one they see more of it.

I can relate, most of my friends say that LBP looks stupid, but all my girl friends say it looks cute. So yeah, most guys won't like it on a first glance, but girls usually will.

I think a lot of gamers will be turned off by the 'cute' look. There's also the question of placing 'creation' as one of the main reasons for buying. The majority of gamers do not place much stress on sitting down and working at making something new - they just like to beat what's in front of them! I think the LBP community of gamers will keep this title bubbling and popular for years, ensuring that we'll be getting a larger and more rewarding gaming experience than most!

i used to be obsessed about SPORE. I was crazy about how you could create your own character and watch it evolve. So maybe being on this constant happiness for creative videogames, that when i found out about LBP i went nuts. It probably contributed to my instant obsession of the game but i know i would have eventually given in even if it i knew about it before SPORE. With my friends, some like it some don't. My ''popular" friend is very creative and he knows nothing about this game but when he plays it i know he will love it. With my game loving friends they are quite sceptical about it. But one of them used to not like it and now he agrees with me about how good this game is.

I definitely agree that it's one of those games that will draw a wider and wider gaming crowd in over time. But it really does appeal first and foremost to those guys and girls who take pride in making something. Most folks simply don't want to have to commit the time required to really utilize the power of a game like this. I totally understand their viewpoint but I'm hooked!!!

One of the first things that got me interested is that it is a brand new developer company. As their first game, and one being developed ONLY on a next gen console (PS3) It prettymuch HAS to be amazing if the company wants to succeed. Being a new developer and releasing games to a mainstream audience is hard to do as the market is dominated by all the exsisting, very famous developers who create popular game franchises and such. Penetrating through them is an extremely hard thing to accomplish, but luckily they got Sony on their side I was also very interested in the game because its being developed in Britain (A pride thing...)

It's not fully their first release. Remember, Mm does have a bit of a following after Rag Doll Kung Fu. But yeah, it is their first console release, and it looks like they may have a lot more coming down the road.

Yeah but I wouldn't say MM developed that, because it was the reason they started the company. They were just a few of the founding members playing around imo... Althoguh, yes, experience-wise they have got it, as most of the founding members migrated from Lionhead studios (Black & White)
