LBP 1.13 is out!

Archive: 35 posts

Just downloading it now. Not sure if it's the Leerdammer patch yet. My guess is that it's just a content patch, possibly including Judge Dredd/2000AD, and possibly online create beta?2009-05-14 01:52:00

Probably not Leerdammer- my guess is a costume patch.

I'm also not too sure about it being the Beta... Seems kinda odd to do it that way for like 200 people... :/

What I meant is that it could possibly enable the code for online create. You just need to be accepted into the beta to use it.

Yeah that may be so. But we don't really know about how it works...

anywho, definitively not Leerdammer- MM said that all huge patches would be announced a few days in advance.

Like? O_o

LMFAO i paused the game to type that, and looked away, and the cardboard menu screen swaying made me think my tv was falling I WAS LIKE ****!

Leerdammer is a huge tcp/ip fix that majorly improves the dropped packet/lag issues.

It's also a type of cheese.

Google "Little Big Planet Leerdammer"

Leerdammer also comes with Online create (not the beta) so I'm guessing once we're done testing it is when Leerdammer comes out.2009-05-14 02:28:00

Would that make you one of the testers?

Whoa, I just missed this one! I'll have to start back up and witness the delicious new load times.
Has anyone discovered any more bug fixes, preferably ones that the fanbase would like to keep?

Any idea on the size? You can generally tell what's in the update from its size
Probabley just costumes though

Has anyone checked the time paintballs can be fired for? After Cornish Yarg they disappeared after 3 seconds when they should go forever. Try standing on a high platform, firing up and away from the edge, it should disappear just below the platform if that wasn't the update.2009-05-14 07:45:00

Just done the system update and the LBP update which can't be costumes because it took about 5 minutes. The costume updates only usually take a few seconds.

It doesn't appear to have fixed the loading times either because the last level i tried still took a long time to load.

It would be really nice if MM just told us what each update is supposed to be for. It would only need a few words, not that difficult surely. They could put it in the news section which isn't news anymore as it hasn't been updated for months.

I'm guessing this is for the beta for online create. Once we have found the bugs all it would require is a small patch et voila, everyone is creating online.2009-05-14 13:19:00

Last night it was taking me forever to heart a level or load anything. I got out of the game, entered again and then I received a connection error.

Is this happening to anybody else? I just quit the game and i'm gonna try again only tonight when i'm back from work.

From my experience with other betas I'm just going to say don't be surprised if the beta doesn't begin until mid-june or is pushed back even more.2009-05-14 14:02:00

.I had a very similar experience last night. I was in create mode. When I came back out to my pod, it took a LONG time to load. Then I was concerned about the save of the level I was working on so I went back into create (edit) and that took forever as well. When I got back to my pod, I was going to publish my changes, but all my published levels were gone (deep sinking feeling in my stomach)! I was afraid I had lost it all. The only hint that I might be OK was that it still showed 7/20 for my published count.

So I too tried restarting the game and I got the same connection error.

I tried again this morning and all is well. They must have just had server issues. Perhaps the update was over taxing them.

Don't be so pessimistic basket. >:/

Anyways. Update is 24 MB. Haven't found anything new yet, except that the game itself starts up faster (to me anyway)

As for level loading speed, that could be your connection, or the amount of custom content that the level has. More custom stickers makes it take longer to load. I just started up a level and it loaded within a few seconds.

And yes, the server *was* down last night, but it's fine now. I just published a demonstration level for a new device concept, and got 44 plays on it, so obviously there's people online.

Just noticed that today's update has fixed the bug I posted about recently whereby I couldn't collect any community prizes or gifts from friends. I just tried a level I had played previously and this time was able to collect the prizes ok.

That's one thing it seems to have fixed anyway.

Yay all hail the Mighty Media Molecule ( until the next bug that is lol )

My LBP disk wasn't in my PS3 last night when I turned it on and I had a system update...not a LBP update...

BUT

I didn't put my LBP disk in once it was done...so if there was an update for it too then I haven't done it yet!

@GhostViper The 1.13 patch is a data only patch. No hidden tricks, just the latest data. It's called Ricotta btw

Of course it's new data! But we want to know what are the fixes in that data if there's any or what's been added...

Don't know whats going on, been trying to play for the last half hour but connection is worse than its ever been. I can't join anyone, no one can join me, levels won't load, system froze twice, given up and switched it off.2009-05-14 19:43:00

um...
you guys do realize if you go into the little big store and press R1 it'll say something like:

"no new content at this moment. Check back later for new content!" (something like that)

so second lbp store page? new content added to that page that we are not allowed to see? awesome.

Why are they going to waste such an awesome cheese on such a small update?

So... it IS Ricotta...?

Online Create Beta seems to be the only viable choice for this =D

I guess it is just an overall update thing, nothing funky. We can't always expect huge features and mayjor bug fixes. I bet there is a lot we do not see, that is not working perfectly and this is getting fixed around the clock. My feeling is, too, that the overall performance network wise is better, but I just might be wrong about this, too.2009-05-15 06:52:00

Well, it has been less laggy for me recently, not to mention the load times are less, and rewinding on create more is smoother.2009-05-15 07:22:00
