10000 char limit not enough!

Archive: 15 posts

Please bump up the limit on a blog to 15000 to 20000 characters. I'm trying to do a blog series on logic and I had to chop out 2500 characters in order to fit it all in.

I wouldn't be bothered except that it made some of it a little more confusing that it should be.

Considering how small most blog entries are, I don't see that there is anything to worry about (no one will post a treatise on "The Theory of Lint") and should have little impact.

This would do a lot for the site, for my series, and for the viewers.

BTW, the obvious "workaround" - break it up into sections - actually isn't applicable in this situation. It breaks the flow of the narrative and can actually lead to misunderstanding.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what to say. Not sure if many people would want this, as blogs seem to be pretty inactive; but I'll obviously leave it to the Staff as they actually know what they're talking about. 2009-05-11 20:31:00

The only time I've reached the limit is when I PMed a MASSIVE review of a level series to LuckyShot pointing out all the intricacies of his level. Around 1500 words I think.

It would be nice to be lifted, but I don't think it'd make too much of a difference.

At least blogs are working for you...

It always give me an error page when I try to create one. Be it on IE or Firefox and both in WindowsXP or Vista64 Home premium...

SL: Of course, someone could comment before you. It's happened before on topics where you post twice in a row deliberately (ie ? la move Guessing), I've seen. Yay, CC delivers again!2009-05-12 07:05:00

Sigh... do i have to explain this again?
I'm using my PS3 browser since i don't have my laptop and probably won't for a whike, and in the PS3 browser there is a pretty small text limit, so if i want to make a long post i have to double post since i run out of space to write...

Hmmm... It took me about 3 hours to hit 12000 chars.... Yah, I'm not sure I'm willing to challenge the 50,000 char limit!

Thanks CC, I truly appreciate it. I REALLY hated cutting some of my jokes (explanation, pfft -- but JOKES... now that's important). XD

FWIW, each lesson takes between 5 to 10 hours to write, draw up, build whatever level, etc. So cutting things out made me sad

PS3 browser is evil... EVIL!!!

I do so hope Sony gets tired of reinventing the wheel and goes with something like Firefox. It would make a LOT of peoples lives so more convenient...
