'Hide All" option for Create Mode
Archive: 10 posts
If you create frequently and add complex machinery into your levels, then you'd know what problems we all are facing. One annoying little problem is the fact that we can't seem to turn off the visibility off rods/switches/anything IN Create Mode. By that, I mean everything that is not visible in Play Mode, becomes invisible while in Create Mode. It's easy as that, just add an option in the menu saying "Hide all tidbits?" and if you press it, those long green lines from the switches and invisible pistons/rods will be gone! It's easier then switching to Play Mode to see if it looks good, then switching back to Create Mode to fix it. | 2009-05-10 12:23:00 Author: AwesomePossum Posts: 446 |
I like this suggestion. It would be good to help you see how things actually look. There are a number of hide options on the suggestions board (such as hiding a layer) and this is a great addition to them. | 2009-05-10 13:37:00 Author: dcf Posts: 468 |
I like that idea as well! I use tons of pistons in my levels, that would be really helpful! (and like dcf says, you could actually see how your level looks in creation mode) misty. | 2009-05-19 18:43:00 Author: Mother-Misty Posts: 574 |
But if you make them invisible in create mode how will you find them when you know something has gone wrong? : ) I think it's much easier to just pretend they are invisible. Surely that's not too hard to do. What I would like to see is something that marks corresponding switch to the cable you've just picked up. (May have something to do with my rather messy way of building more complex machinery/logic.) | 2009-05-19 19:30:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |

That's an excellent idea, for a non-subtle appearance change so you can easily check which switch you're holding. | 2009-05-19 19:36:00 Author: dcf Posts: 468 |
But if you make them invisible in create mode how will you find them when you know something has gone wrong? : ) Well if something has gone wrong you turn the visibility back on This would be good for taking photos of your level with much more freedom too | 2009-05-19 19:36:00 Author: Dexiro Posts: 2100 |
This is a good idea because then we could take pics for our level threads right from create mode without worrying about others seeing the tidbits in our pics. Currently, to get good pics without these eyesores showing up we have to do it from play mode. | 2009-05-19 21:10:00 Author: mindphaser74 Posts: 349 |
This would be excellent. I'd love being able to drag wires again and not have it laaaaag because of how many hundreds are on screen already. | 2009-05-19 21:42:00 Author: Loius Posts: 342 |
You know what would really be convenient to create complex stuff? Hide/show option for each layer. This would save so much time and manipulation, easy selection of stuff being other stuff, etc . | 2009-05-20 16:22:00 Author: RangerZero Posts: 3901 |

Sounds like another awesome idea. They should have been thinking a little more along the lines of Photoshop/Illustrator when they designed LBP, this would have helped. These programs, for anyone who has never used them, use the "hide layers" option. | 2009-05-20 17:14:00 Author: mindphaser74 Posts: 349 |
