Need help; New glitch?

Archive: 10 posts

Ok, so whenever I insert a magnetic key switch into my level, it comes in ALREADY activated. I tried working around this by setting it to inversed, but it didn't work. The most I can do is copy a switch that (I'm not sure how or why) but even then when I change the color it turns on.

If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE post here as soon as humanly possible.

This is a very odd glitch. If you move a key into its radius and then out again, is it still on? How about if you load an empty level and place one?2009-05-09 11:32:00

...Is the game paused? lol I've never heard of this happening before. I'd suggest possibly attempting to reload the level (via saving it as in another location, just in case its corrupted somehow)2009-05-09 11:42:00

you know... i had this too a while ago.. though i'm not sure it's the same :/

I had a magnatic key switch wired to an emitter but it was turned of because the key wasn't in it's radius and when i pressed play, the object was being emitted even though the switch was off.

what i did was press play and immediately press pause again, removed the emitted object and it was alright again.

Hmm.. i have had this glitch before, but it wasn't a big deal since it went back to normal after placement.
Have you tried settiing the radius to 0?
Remember that it needs to be without being inverted.

Unpause the game. It does this in my LBP game and always has, but there have never been any ill-effects from this, it is just the way it was done graphically. It turns off as soon as you unpause the game.

But if I am missunderstanding, then try placing the switch, unpause, then plug it into whatever you are plugging it into.

Ugh.... unpausing the game might destroy my creation.... but whatever.

Thanks for the help.

You have to unpause all the time though to check that everything is working ok IMO. Thats how I do it. I refine an area and make sure it's working before moving on.2009-05-10 00:46:00
