Hey all!

I'm new here but, i'm gonna jump straight in.
I'm working off my PS3 browser so i shall have to get screenshots when i figure it out lol.
Anyway, i've spoke about this in level showcase forum, i've created a total of 4 levels, 3 being a 3 part xmas adventure which is separate from this project and 1 being the thread title, the new project. I've set out on a little project and it will take time! Basically, the synopsis is this...

You are randomly sent through time with no explanation and travelling through it seems to be the only option.My twist is that the journey changes upon decisions you make during levels. For instance, if you behave badly in the past, say, choosing a destructive route, when you arrive in the future, it will be chaos and if you did things differently, the future could be better created.

Taking inspiration from the classic Kid Chameleon on the Megadrive, you can unlock an entire different level from the usual route say, if you make decisions which show a creative side, you could end up on a magic themed level (because you have influenced time)! So it prompts replay.

So, i have the 1st Act up which is basically the introduction. Present day and Mother sends you on an errand to pick up things for her at the Hillside Store across town but, the outcome will be of least expected to you.
You can play it 2 ways, neutral or badly. Playing it neutraly will result in a fairly averagely lengthed level but, doing the side quest (robbing the towns Bank) will double the length! Depending on your route, you will get a key to the corresponding level 2 (when complete and published).

I go for structure over randomly put down obstacles and i go for stories too. If your one for mindless fun, i may not please you but, i feel i'm doing something ambitious so, please try!

This is REALLY good thinking. Moral choice decides which level you'll play. The replay value will be a definite plus! I can't wait to see what crazy things you create!2009-05-07 02:06:00

This would be really cool. The only problem i see is in making sure the sidequests and levels are rather unique. I'd definitely replay it a few times, but as soon as it gets where the challenges are real similar, or i have to constantly redo things to get to the second option... lets just say my interest won't last all that long.2009-05-07 02:23:00

Burnvictim: I hear you. I have taken that into account. Maybe you can give me some feedback on finished levels and i can improve if so required or something.

The fully interactive title screen from the 1st Act. Each letter progresses with time and you can hear the ambiance corresponding to that time if you stand in front of the letter. 'E' (future) is under construction, to give you the feeling of "its up to me"...its uncertain.

1st Act (see level showcase)

It doesn't showcase how you will get a different Act 2 yet as both the Act 2's are currently being worked on. I know exactly how its going to work though, i have it entirely thought out.

I've played your first level. But i'm not entirely sure i can give feedback on the overall concept you have in mind. (oh, and i didn't really take notes ) When i say repetition... i mean like "oh no, not another ball grab swing part >.>" If the episodes become too similar in their construct, its not going to be worth replaying a level, in order to unlock another level of similar design.

I don't really mind replaying a level once (as that happens often enough when i die, or some bug shows up in someones level ;p) Its just when it feels like i'm replayin it only to earn another replay lol.

yup! and i totally agree, but, i want each level to completely contrast the last. I'm sure you will agree there was nothing like that in Act 1. You could give feedback on the sole Act in the thread in level showcase if you wish.

Yeah, Act 1 is just to get the ball rolling and to give you a heads up.
