Science Fair measurements
Archive: 4 posts
Okay, I have to do a science fair project for science and I am going to do mine on smoke bombs. The manipulated variable is going to be the materials inside of it. I was going to time how long the smoke bomb took to release all the smoke but my science teacher said," it was to simple..." What I need is something else to measure that is somewhat precise and is not some complicated math thing. Thanks in advanced... | 2009-05-07 00:40:00 Author: Unknown User |
Just to get this out of the way, this should be Gen. Chat (Help! is LBP help only...I think) As for the actual dependant variable...volume produced? Collect the smoke particles in a tube and test? Oh, here's a good one to test: Thickness. How you would do so, I'm not sure... You could do a colour scale - eg, make 20 boxes of darkening shades of grey, label them 1-20, and give each material a number...though, of course, white smoke can be thick too...hm...maybe shine an laser through it and then a sensor at the other end that reads the strength of the laser? Or a black square projected through, then the 1-20 scale used on it? | 2009-05-07 01:01:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
