If it is a cheese update it's already got a bad rep: "Freeze Cheese Yes, cheese can be frozen. Here is more advice: I always buy big quanities of cheese and then seperate it and then freeze it. But I'm not sure how much longer it makes it last. Shredded cheese will easily keep at least 6 mos. in the freezer. After defrosting, it's best used in recipes where it will be melted. Frozen whole cheese suffers some changes in texture, so it's not recommended for serving raw. Remember that freezing cheese will alter the texture on certain cheeses, for example cheddar becomes crumbly, which can at times be nicer than non frozen cheddar!
