Probably the bulk of comments in levels are: H4H, hArT Me PLZZ anD I hrt U bacc OR play.my.level.cave.descent.plz. (or something like that) So, do you advertise you levels or participate in H4H? Although the people who do are (STEROTYPICAL COMMENT COMING UP!) 10 years old...i think, no offence to any 10 year old out there, but, like, I mean, <sigh> hArT Me PLZZ anD I hrt U bacc SERIOUSLY like. Too much Runescape. But the people who do that MIGHT have no creating talent or nobody plays their levels and nobody hearts them, so you have to feel a little sorry for them. Advertising levels is similar, although I think that is more common. I even done it once....the shame :blush: ... So: Do YOU do any of these things? So I said none of the above... But I was thinking about it and does posting F4F count as advertising? I thought not. When I first got the game and before I created anything, I did a few H4H (hey...I didn't know any better and was just trying to be nice!) Now though I wouldnt...I want to see what you can create. I have never cared about the trophies so I didn't do it for that reason.

H4H is for the lazy creators. I find it very annoying that I spend hours and hours on each level I create and feel I deserve any hearts I get. When I play a level where someone has stuck a few objects down and very little else, and I see they've got far more hearts than my complex level it makes my blood boil. I like to see someone attempt something different and not simple put:- H4H my level plz I need more for trophies! I also rate honestly and sometimes harshly. If you've not tried at all to create something different you'll get a 1 star from me no matter what your age. H4H undermines all the great creators out there.

Nope, never have... and I don't really consider showcasing here to be H4H related - it won't get you a ton of plays, but it will get you invaluable feedback from many talented creators.

And why does it matter THAT much if they don't heart you? Besides, just build a couple of good levels and you'll get your og so precious hearts... Sure they might not compete withthe best (Or can they?) but so what? Just keep trying. Besides, i mostly build for fun, remember, its a game, its for the USER to have fun, if the others like it, then good, if not, then too bad for them.

No i dont H4H, as several people have stated, it feels cheap (and not to mention stupid). I always respond to the H4H comments and tell them i don't do H4H.... whether they read them or not, idk. makes me wonder how many of my hearts (not that there are many lol) are from spam. As to the advertising... idk. I don't post the "OMGBBQ-PLA_MAH_LVL" spam, but i DID make a level thats adspace... which is why i have the "advertising" part in my siggy. Basically, its just a small billboard of one of my levels, and one for LBPC... but its seriously open to any player that wants to give me some pictures of their level to post- though i don't allow H4H there. Its a 1 level per player limit too, so its not like its just my spam XD. Sorry for the plug, it just felt like it needed elaboration.

Certainly never H4H, and I`ve never just promoted my own levels on another`s comments page. I will say to people to try my levels if I think there`s a similarity there eg they`ve made a pirate level.

I think I H4Hed once (I was still new to LBP), but then changed my mind and deleted the comment. As for advertising, I advertised a little bit in the Showcase Forum, but it didn't really work out. I may try to advertise in there again someday.

I did H4H once, a loooong time ago. Oh yeah, when I did it, the guy commented on my level: "Wow, I would have hearted this even if it weren't for H4H!" I advertise my levels, but I use spaces and everything, because I have a keyboard.

OK - Just for the record... I voted in the poll and wish now that I could change my vote. I voted before reading the OP and so misunderstood the question. By "advertise your level" I took it to mean on sites such as this and others, in their level submission / showcase threads. My in-game comments are strictly either constructive criticism or hearty kudos. If I do not have one of these motives, I do not even bother to leave comments. Anyway... just clearing my name in advance. :blush:

I think when I published my levels they went straight to oblivion. Because they were getting absolutely no plays. By asking, I would get some plays. Now I put them on the showcase, and actually get feedback, so it works out better for me.

You had played one of my levels or one of my friend's levels and we ended up checking yours out! (fully automated machine) and boy was I glad I did!
