Control advice? (Prev On/Off switch help)

Archive: 6 posts

I'm currently working on a "Lights out" game for a level muuuch later on in my SackCity storyline. There are 25 "windows" and I was wondering what would be the best interface for the player to use to choose between them? Sticker is out, as it would block the view of the "light" methinks... Buttons? Paintinator? What would you rather use?

[Previously, and answered]Even the most simple of tasks can elude one when you're trying to make something kinda complicated.

I'm working on a gadget/game thing. Already got the majority of the thing figured out, except for one tiny problem. Basically I want to make it so when a button is pressed, it turns something on. Press it again, it turns off. I know there are 2-way levers in the creator, but that's not what I need unfortunately (although I'm guessing the resulting solution would include it somewhere.)

Any help/ideas? Sorry if it is a really noobish question, seeing as the other help threads tend to contain really complicated switches.

Ah, fantastic, got it sorted now. Apologies for the thread, didn't think to call it a toggle switch >.<2009-05-03 13:14:00

As for your newest question, I'm thinking that Paintinator is the best bet as 25 buttons would be annoying to have to press.
Although, you could use a sticker, but have a panel at the side of the window in order to hit it..........
Just throwing some ideas out there

Not sure if this is what you meant... but a duplicate grid (smaller maybe) for players to use a sticker on next to the lights... That might work quite well in fact. The paintinator could possibly prove too "spammy" thinking about it, and could probably mess up the workings if done too fast.2009-05-03 16:56:00
