I don't know if this is posted in the right place, but I never really made levels before. Anyone have any ideas for newbie builders or anything of the sort?

I don't really have any ideas, but I have some tips. As it's your first level, maybe it will be better if you just make something simple, such as a survival challenge, just to get used to the complex create mode tools, and you can then make more complex and bigger levels easier as you're then used to the tools. Also use stickers and decorations in your level, as using these right can really make a level look better, and also give your level a point, platformers are much better then random points fests. There all my tips for now. Hope they helped.

Ideas for newbie builders, eh... well, what do you like? do you like, say, futuristic warzones? Temples? Jungles? Obviously, first you need a theme. Simply make it what you want it to be. choose a theme that interests you. Don't be too obsessed with making a "ZOMG EPIC LEVELZ!". we can't all be like donkey show, having our first level be featured in playstation official magazine and qore. Just do what you like best. so yes, first, Theming. A general theme, a general plot- doesn't have to be too much, just base it off YOUR interests. also, try not to use too many objects from the story. People don't like when you use other people's work- looks cheap. ALSO, one more thing. Remember to take a few seconds and name it something. I hope you wouldn't be the kind to call a level "Unnamed Level" with no description. anyway, eyah. First, choose your theme based on what YOU like. Remember, you'll spend a long time maki9ng the level, so it better be based on something you like!

Thank you both for the tips/help. I really like the swinging aspect of the game, like off of sponges, so I might make like a jungle level with swinging off of trees.
