just wondering what you guys think I should do: I am creating a new level thread and have taken 20+ pics to include. These pics pretty much show the entire level. Should I post all the pics or just some of them to leave some surprises for the players?

Show the ones that best promote your level but leave some surprise for the player, it'll make it more memorable. I'd recommend that you post just 7 or 8 pictures.

Personally I like to see what a level is going to be like, but not see things such as a boss or the ending. I also don't like to see things that may be a suprise in the level. Generally around 4 to 6 pictures is fair enough, but don't show the whole level.

should I leave out a couple of the absolutely best parts? For instance, one of the highlights of the level is a ridable "Below the Root" title/elevator. It looks awesome but could be used as a HUGE surprise maybe. But maybe this would really sell the level on this site if I did display this pic.

You should put it in, especially if it has the title.

I would put pics that make the viewer say: "Hmmm... This level looks pretty good, I should try it, maybe there will be some epic creations." For that I would put pics that show maybe give out the theme of the level, with a few epic moments (not the best!). In all, maybe 4-6 maximum 7 pictures.
