Anyone remember this very underrated PSone platforming classic?

YouTube - 1 of 33 Tomba! Walkthrough 130 Events

Personally I think it stands alongside Castlevania: Symphony of the night as one of the best 2D platformers ever made. A truly huge game with over 130 quests to complete and a massive game world. So much to see and do and such great art style and music. How many other games get you to dry hump elves to learn elven? None that's how many.

Anyway I hope I'm not alone in my reverence of this game.

In all honesty I played this ony my PC #cough cough# if you know what I'm saying...

Though I do actually own the disk version of this. Bought on an ebay for quite alot of money a while ago. I also have Tomba 2 but it isn't quite as good as the first. The backgrounds went full 3D and implemented a weird axis changing dynamic that made the level layout really confusing. Still also a very good game though.

But yeah Sony really need to pull together and get more decent PSone games out on PSN.

i've played this game recently, i didn't enjoy it as much as i used to but it's still a great game

i thought it was a bit confusing and slow for a platformer, i just didn't like walking around for ages trying to figure out what to do.
when it came to the actual platforming though it's really fun

on the subject on psn games, i'm not sure what sony are doing but it's annoying!
i'd understand if they didn't have access to some of the games with all of them being third party, but the US store has games like crash bandicoot 2 and spyro - why hasn't the EU store got these?

Tomba was a great game!! One of my favourite PS1 games!!

The 2nd game lost a lot of the charm for me when they went completely 3D.
The characters really aren't that appealing in 3 dimensions....

There was alot of great 2D platformers on PS1. And some really great 2.5D like Tomba.

I suggest you play Klonoa and Pandemonium (especially Pandemonium 2). It's right up there with the best platformers on PS1

My personal favorite though is "The Adventures of Little Ralph".

I remember this!

What's with the 2 different names? I always knew it as Tomba... Is it NA versus EU, or something like that?

I could never play it very much 'cuz I didn't have a memory card...

I take back my last comment, i played it again even more recently and thought every aspect of it was brilliant.

I had a better idea of what to do so i wasn't clueless so much, when you know what you're doing it's super fun!
