What have they donr to LBP?!
Wll, if you were worried that LBP2 was gonna have stuff that LBP wouldn't in a sort of way it is, considering its pretty much a new game.

It's new to me. First time I've seen it.

The switching axis thing looks like it'd be too complicated to really be worthwhile but I'd love to see ladders introduced, doorways that warp you to different places and paths between planes.

I almost want to go back and recreate that level just for the fun of it.

LBP2 will hopefully have:

A proper, non-tutorial story.

Create mode will have hundreds of tutorials, taking you step by step through creating a level, from logic gates, detailing, lighting effects etc.

An extremely advanced form of create mode, allowing you to do more complex mechanics, more userfriendly, and a SETTINGS section. Multiple popit setups etc.

A fixed SHARE section. Genres, Difficulty ratings, Filter searches with random results that fit the criterea (3+ difficulty, 4 stars, 15% h2p ratio, "puzzle" genre, "Beautiful" tags, haven't played yet). Random so even months after you publish it still gets played.

Cool levels lasts for 1 month

And various other things

4 layers in addition to thins

A tool that moves objects between layers

Powerups for the sackboy

A grav gun

I honestly hope their is never a LittleBigPlanet2. What would be the point? I think it would cleave the community in two (original vs. extra crispy; Coke vs, new Coke) I would rather see the game and community evolve @ it's own pace with some gentle prods from MM (and perhaps eventually through licensed third parties)in the form of dlc. Think about it, [everything downloadable now says, "by Media Molecule"], but how cool would it be... if at the store I had access to a page where everything on it said, "...by LucasArts", or "...by NASA"?

Same game but a completely different thing. It's not like NASA couldn't use the money.

I totally agree. Let LBP2 be the PSP version. Personally, as long as they keep having updates in LBP, I'll always play it.

I will slaughter MM (not really >_<) if they release LBP2 on the PS3. Yes.

However... what about on the PS4? :/

And here we go, people start thinking of stuff that they think its in the game, but really sin't they make a fuzz, rumors start, they make it official that they'll be in the game and BAM! the game comes out and nothing of what was rumored is there and they wave of complaining arrives.
Same as CY, some people said online create was in there, the rumor spread, they thought it was official, then CY came out, and no online create, which (out of space)

...which resulted in all the "wasn't online create in CY?" or "Why didn't Mm put online create as they said they would." When that actually was never said by Mm, but by the people.
What i mean is that a lot of the time people expect more than what Mm can do, which put them in a bad spot as whenever something rumored to be in the game doesn't appear people get mad at Mm, for things that Mm never said they were doing in the first place. do you get what i'm saying?
Yeah i know i'm making a fuzz for nothing, but still, i don't want others to keep making that mistake.

Yeah rumours do tend to be from things like this .

I honestly love the game as it is but a few times I've just wanted that extra layer to do a foreground or HUD.

The tool that moves objects between layers I doubt will happen.

The gravgun and powerups are me being a bit silly.

Edit: Also noticed the video is very Abe's Odesse (sp?) and a cartoon that I can't recall the name of...

I doubt any of the things in the video would happen. Maybe the camera changing, but that's it.

I do, however, think there is going to be an LBP2. They can't just keep the community on the original LBP, because when the PS3 dies, LBP dies with it. If they want to keep the community going, they have to transfer to the PS4 somehow.
The internet is different, because it doesn't rely on one specific piece of software being on one specific piece of software. The internet doesn't expire because computers will never expire.

Maybe you'll be able to climb stuff in LBP2, but I seriously doubt there'll be any sort of complex camera and area changing stuff. It'll just be too complex to make stuff like that.2009-05-02 18:47:00

I hope it's not like that...

I have to agree. I like LBP's simple platforming gameplay, although I think climbing stuff could be cool.

i think the logical step for lbp2 would be to go into 3 deminsions. anything done with in two dimensions can just be added on to lbp through up dates. lbp2 should be an entire new game engine, thus i would like it to step into the 3d realm. they did say the pupose of lbp was to create an environment in which to make a games, so i would think that a lbp2 would seek to create a different environment inwhich to make games, namely the 3d environment. it seems it would really be a waste to release a lbp2 that just followed the same format with some minor tweaks.2009-05-02 20:57:00

The problem is...it would make more sense for Mm to follow a similar structure in LBP2.
All 3D-game creation tools have been total failures, especially those on consoles (think RPG Maker 2 and 3)
I doubt Mm will simply add a few things like climbing and such, as that can easily be added in an update. Instead, I think they'll change things in the engine itself. Since the game would most likely be on a more technologically advanced system, they could use the type of sponge used in the first GDC demo level.

I'm sure MM doesn't plan on releasing a LitlleBigPlanet2 for the playstation platform. I mean, get real. I'm sure the folks will hold off from making a number 2 on the PS3 because it will slice the fanbase in half, and likely hurt them more then it will help them.

As far as it coming out for the PS4. That's still quite some time off. The earliest, most ludicrous (Often on Microsoft/XBOX communities) put the PS4 coming out in late, late 2010. Real, more accurate estimates put the playstation 4 console at least two or three years down the road, or more. (Include the planned firmware updates, and you could probably knock the PS4 back a few MORE years.) It's gonn be a while.

So, in short, LBN2 likely isn't going to come out for quite some time. If ever... And that's just the way it should be. If they continue to make the game update and evolve with DLC, there's no reason for a LBP2, and frankly, I don't want to have one. The claymation style and graphics kind of remind me of some advanced version of craftworld, before it was reworked into the LBP we know and love. It's pretty cool, to say the least.

They need to make LBP2 on PS4, that much is obvious.

They also need to keep LBP2 consistant with LBP. They should bring all the current levels over, for example, so that when LBP2 is released, all our work isn't destroyed, and the people that deserted LBP early this year can play the levels that have been made since.

That is why I believe the video is bogus, as I don't believe MM will destroy the current lbp.

Also, I didn't want to start rumors lol. They need to update create mode though. Keep it simple, yet advanced, if you get what I'm saying. Like, there is a huge difference between photoshop 1 and CS3, but if you can use 1, you can probably use CS3. Sure, there are plenty of new additions for userfriendliness, more tools, etc, but the core game remains the same. A casual Photoshop user won't notice much of a difference, but the more skilled Photoshopers will find them a lifesaver.

That is the sort of thing LBP2 needs to do. ON THE PS4 obviously, again.
