Anyone Have Any Idea on How to Do This?

YouTube - TRIAL of SEASONS part 1 (Part 1)

At the beginning of the level, the player walks into the house and the front layer of it is moved (by a piston?) revealing the inside. Any idea on how the author did this?

Easy stuff. The front thin panel of the house is hooked up to a piston with a sensor switch inside the house that is linked to the piston and set to directional.

...and Mindphaser types faster than I do. The only thing I'd add is it looks like the player proximity switch in the house appears to be attached to a permanent switch which is set to directional and that permanent switch is what's triggering the piston - because the house front doesn't come back up once the player has triggered it.

You could always ask the level author too - he's a member here. Member name is Sickivionkey - just leave a message on his profile or private message him. I'm sure he wouldn't mind telling you.

Excuse my stupidity guys, I seem to have forgotten the directional option XD.

If you'd like an alternative way to do such things, try my Sack's In The City level.

I spawn and de-spawn the front walls of my buildings.

I like both these concepts and I will probably use them in later series

Or of course you could just set it on a dissolvable platform that's out of view and make the platform dissapear when near.
Of course this is only if you don't want it to go back up.

Yeah this method sounds more in tune with how other LBP story levels would have handled it; having the side of the house being a loose object that gets dropped or thrown or the like.
