LBPC Trailer (Video!)
Archive: 33 posts
This has nothing to do with the LBPC: The Game, project, this is for the website! Hopefully this goes in here, because it is a project that has to do with LBP. Ok, after getting an HD recorder I started to record levels and edit them. I love editing them and making them so I wanted to do something bigger. Then I thought of LBPC, and then I had the idea for a trailer! It started as a simple idea of a sackboy playing levels and such, then at the end it says LBP, but then a story started to be created and I added much more. Instead of text I wanted voice acting, and instead of just level playing a wanted to show what you could do on this site, using LBP. Now, I need you, the community, to help me with two things, first up is the easy part; I need levels for my sackboy to play through. These levels should be known by lots of people, and created by a member of this community. This will make people say; "Oh I know that level! That was an awesome level! Now I HAVE to join LBPC because the creators so cool and he must only belong to cool forums!" Just post your, and someone else's level, and then I will look at them all and see which ones should be in it. I also need a voice actor. But there a criteria; Good microphone! No background noises and no crackling. I want to hear your voice clearly! Deep voice! I need someone older, we don't want a 3 year old telling us to join this community! This one is non-mandatory but an English accent would be cool If you think you qualify, then just record your voice saying the following line; "Well hello there Sackboy! Why so sad?" Record you saying that, then post a link to the file so I can listen to it. If you are chosen I will give you a script. Thank you for helping, hopefully this will be an awesome video that grabs many LBPers attention and brings them to our wonderful community! | 2009-05-01 02:21:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |
I'm British, but 13, so wouldn't fit the voice criteria. Nice idea, though! | 2009-05-01 07:12:00 Author: dawesbr Posts: 3280 |
Basilisk Bog (MM Pick) Cause and Effect (any of them) (#3 MM Pick) The Matrix Trial of Seasons (MM Pick) Sackhouette (MM Pick) Minigame - Building buildings! (MM Pick) Tye Dye Dark and Stormy Night Razotep's Tomb (MM Pick!) Wizard of Odd I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch that would be cool to use too but those are the one's that come to mind for me. | 2009-05-01 07:45:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Nice idea! And I completely agree with Morgana's ideas for the levels. | 2009-05-01 17:24:00 Author: lk9988 Posts: 1077 |
Ahem, Morgana, Raz's Tomb was also a Mm pick (http://www.mediamolecule.com/2009/01/05/first-mmpicks-of-2009/#more-223). ...I still don't know how my level got on there... Anyway, this sounds like a neat idea, and while my voice isn't that deep, it'd be interesting to do voice acting sometime. | 2009-05-01 18:35:00 Author: aer0blue Posts: 1603 |
Coola boola. It would be great if you could take every level that has been spotlighted but obviously there's way too many. The spotlight archive would be a great place to look though. | 2009-05-01 18:43:00 Author: Killian Posts: 2575 |

It does have a very special place in my heart though | 2009-05-01 19:42:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

I'm 15 and I could record for you, I use a condenser microphone. Although I don't sound too adultish - if that is what you are looking for. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3149/2551149823_9b3c9789a3.jpg?v=0 | 2009-05-01 20:32:00 Author: DanC Posts: 433 |
Dood.! we should totally do this! :O | 2009-05-01 21:32:00 Author: Yarbone Posts: 3036 |
Thanks for the replies. Trickster, just give me a clip and I'll see, I can bet it will be good. Also, I don't want to many levels, maybe 10-15, so we will have to narrow them down to find the best, but I will put in Basilisk Bog! | 2009-05-01 23:24:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |
I look forward to seeing the end product of this | 2009-05-01 23:29:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |

Well I'm british and 14, and my voice is deep.. But I'm too lazy | 2009-05-04 10:58:00 Author: ARD Posts: 4291 |
Every level created by GrantosUK Every level created by mrsupercomputer Flaming Timberland 1&2 For the love off.... Just go to my hearted page and and find 8 pages of creators from LBPC. | 2009-05-04 12:59:00 Author: blizzard_cool Posts: 752 |
This sounds like a pretty cool idea! I'd recommend CCubbage's Splat Invaders Saga and Jaeyden's Abyss in addition to some of the levels that have been mentioned so far. Maybe even show off some of the Contra levels that Ninja and Jaeyden worked on as those have been pretty popular and it's cool that creators from LBPC were involved with them. I'd suggest combing through some of the old spotlights as well. This community has produced so many great levels that it's hard to recall them all. | 2009-05-04 15:20:00 Author: mrsupercomputer Posts: 1335 |
I might give this a go tomorrow. I have a deep voice but it's also rather mumbly. I also wouldn't mind having a crack at making my own LBPC forum trailer. Perhaps you could upload the footage you capture somewhere so people can download it. Also if you want music I'd be willing to offer the use of some of my tracks if you want to try and create something that's totally community created. There's some samples of my stuff in my sig but I think this song would work pretty well. Odori Nasai (http://soundclick.com/share?songid=2953182) (Skip to 1:30 for when it really kicks in.) | 2009-05-04 17:15:00 Author: Sosaku Posts: 146 |
That music was great, and is definitely a possibility. I may ask trickster to do a remix as he is pretty good at that. | 2009-05-05 01:16:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |
Sounds like a cool project! Really neat music Sosaku I also have lots of music, some orchestral and some more electronic. Just some more options for music - or maybe you could use several songs. Here's one that might be good for the background of a trailer. I think it could work behind someone's voice: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/229747 Here's an electronic one that could work during footage: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/184162 And some more... http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/213315 http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/187014 http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/180733 By the way, sorry it's on Newgrounds. Don't know if any of you love/hate that site, but generally I dislike it. It's just an easy place for me to upload my music. If there are better places anyone knows of be sure to let me know! Anyways, yeah so if you want to use any of that music let me know. Also, this is kinda off topic I guess, but I think that we should start an LBPC Podcast. I used to own a Wii a couple years back and I was on this small forum, and we pulled together a podcast. It was lots of fun, and I think an LBPC podcast could be really good. It could have stuff about the site itself, as well as about LBP such as tips, awesome levels, and just general chit chat. All you need are a bunch of people (I'd be willing I think) that could do it over skype. Someone has to record the session (I might be able to do that - not sure), and someone has to edit it (I've never done this before but I'd love to try!). But yeah... cool idea Cog! | 2009-05-05 02:54:00 Author: hilightnotes Posts: 1230 |
Hey whatever happened to this? C'mon, I want a trailer!!! And I thought Cog was the last one to post here!!! | 2009-05-31 23:47:00 Author: Theap Pleman Posts: 670 |
Hey whatever happened to this? C'mon, I want a trailer!!! And I thought Cog was the last one to post here!!! I am still wanting to do this, and with summer coming it would be easier to do. Once we get everyone who will work on it, we can really get started. | 2009-05-31 23:56:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |
Yeah don't let this slip mate, I would like to see this fulfilled Especially now you have had so much practice making them wonderful videos you make | 2009-06-01 00:11:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |
(dunno if this has been suggested) but, film multiplayer parts, or playing with more than 1 person, it shows how open and active the community is! (if you do that, CAN I BE ONE/?!) | 2009-06-01 00:12:00 Author: johnrulz77 Posts: 835 |
Yes, that is pretty much the story I was going for; Lone sackboy crying, narrator tells him about LBPC, he goes there, meets friends, then plays our levels. Also, I'm not really good at editing, I can make a video HD, and make pretty text, but that's it. I will definitely be making the script, making sure everything is going well, and filming. I'll probably ask a Ninja Editor to edit it, so it looks professional. And yes, you can be in some john. | 2009-06-01 02:28:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |
The guys from Sackcast can help you out with editing most likely, they'll be glad to do something for the community and they're really good at it.... | 2009-06-01 04:05:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |

you could make it like a sackboy playing a scary level, he hides in a corner crying, then some other sacks come by and the sun comes out, etc. (btw, dont ask me how, but for some reason i know how to get my sackboy to hide in a corner 0.0) | 2009-06-01 04:56:00 Author: johnrulz77 Posts: 835 |
= (btw, dont ask me how, but for some reason i know how to get my sackboy to hide in a corner 0.0) lol, do you just run aginst a wall or do you do it properly? | 2009-06-02 21:28:00 Author: FlameAtNight Posts: 405 |
Hey... when do you think it will be done? ... because the second anniversary of the site is on the 29th I think... It could be a birthday present to the site! | 2009-06-02 21:34:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Hey... when do you think it will be done? ... because the second anniversary of the site is on the 29th I think... It could be a birthday present to the site! Of June? If so, then no, as I'm not going to do anything for it until summer, which is in 3 weeks for me D: | 2009-06-03 00:56:00 Author: Kog Posts: 2358 |

Don't forget AAALone's Moving Parts!!!!!!! It's on the Highest Rated page!!! And the Bunker by poms!!!! It's the number 1 level on the Highest Rated page!!!!!! (Yeah, poms is on these forums) I was thinking you should use music from a music level from LBP, like show the beginning and keep the sound from it, then show the trailer. I have a music level made, but it's kinda short, and I don't know if it's popular enough. Is 3100 plays and 230 hearts enough? If so, the level is called "Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train (intro)" and my PSN is tjb0607. If not, then try using some music levels from Leather-Monkeys, he has some pretty good music levels made. EDIT: TheJollyRajah's on these forums, just use one of his songs. | 2009-06-03 03:24:00 Author: tjb0607 Posts: 1054 |
