A.I. Wars (The Insect Mind)

This is an old game I played way back when I was still in high school. You code (yes, code) an A.I. for your battle bug and then send your creation out to duke it out with other A.I. bugs in an enclosed arena and try to come out on top while eliminating the competition.

The bugs are outfitted with a variety of scanning equipment, shields and weapons you can tell it to use through pseudo-code.

The game is freeware again (it was freeware when I first found out about it, then further updates required paid registration) so feel free to check it out if you want to try your hand at coding an A.I.

I remember I used to fine-tune this really good hunter-killer A.I. (It's a shame I lost the A.I. file).
I never managed to best the tougher sample A.I.s that came with the game, or the tournament-winner A.I.s, but I still thought it was pretty good. I'm going to try my hand at remaking it now that I have a lot more programming experience under my belt. 		2009-04-30 15:15:00

I can't even spell the word code... let alone do it.

I took home-ec instead of computers in school because that's where all the girls were.... and I really wanted to sew ugly plush Christmas wreaths.
