Hey all you KILLZONE freaks! I just got an email from Sony with the following awesome news... if you're 17 yrs. or older and live in the States. (Canada gets pooched again!!) I figured I'd pass along the info to any of you lucky enough to qualify, and to anger the rest of us who don't. Grrr... MLG GAMEBATTLES and SONY just announced the KILLZONE 2 ONLINE CHAMPIONSHIPS! Assemble a four-man team and challenge the best of the best for bragging rights. Win the most valuable collectible items Playstation has ever produced, including "authentic" Helghast Suits - each valued at more than $8,000.00. Also up for grabs are STA 52 Assault Rifle replicas, Helghast collectible busts, downloadable content, and collectible T-Shirts. The First Place team gets (one per member) - Exclusive Tournament T-Shirt, downloadable content (DLC) codes, Authentic KZN (Helghast) Suit at a value of $9,519 per team member. For those of you without a calculator handy... that's a total of $38,076 in First Place prizes alone!! Stupid "US Residents ONLY" clause!! Second place is the T-Shirt, DLC, and the Assault Rifle replica. Third is the T-Shirt, DLC, and a Collectible Helmet/Bust. From there on it gets lame though. On a related note, I've seen a Helghast costume used for promotional use, and although the costume itself isn't very good... the helmet and face piece is fantastic!!
