Rotation Snap

Archive: 18 posts

I think a good idea would be a option to like.. Hold R3 whilst rotating to snap to 10 degree intervals.

Any comments?

Yes, the 90-degree grid snap is a tad annoying. I'd like something in 15 degrees intervals.2009-04-25 23:32:00

Yeh. but you wouldn't need to use the grid also!

Like

Small gird - medium grid - large grid
no rot. snap - 10deg rot snap - 45deg rot snap - 90 deg rot snap

in the options menu

Yeah, I think it would be much better if we'd have a separate translation, rotational, and scale snaps. And maybe some button we can press and hold to do fine tuning in like 5 degrees.

1. By pressing R3 you would flip the object
2. It's not humanly possible to hold R3 whilst tilting the right stick. Unless I am very much mistaken, R3 is only 'pressed' when the right stick is centered.

Actually, one can press and tilt the sticks at the same time. (Many games use that for a 'sprint' option) Although it is less touchy, and designed to work when you go forward and backward, while rotating it mights be a little trickier.

if there aren't any free buttons then maybe it should be a menu option similar to the grid2009-04-26 15:06:00

1. L3 COPIES OBJECTS. Just to set things straight.

2. If there are any free buttons, it would be pressed to toggle the snap, instead of holding it down.

3. If there aren't any free buttons and there is a menu option. To avoid clutter in the pause menu, you would have to press select to go to a menu of options (because you shouldn't have to good grief anything you're creating...)

EDIT: Nevermind, L3 copies objects...

That's a good idea, factually. Seeing as, I think, you can't read speech bubbles with your pop-it out (I may be wrong), maybe triangle?2009-04-26 23:09:00

That's a really good idea. Something like that could really help me on some of my levels.2009-05-03 21:10:00

Excellent suggestion. I don't know like holding down R3 but I think adding a rotation snap in the menu under the grid options would be an useful addition.2009-05-10 13:40:00

This is a feature I've wanted for some time. I'm sure there should be a setting in the pause menu to set the rotation snap angle. It would also be handy to change the grid offset as well.2009-05-11 13:10:00
