'Black Hole' tool

This idea I have works similarly to dissolve material, but you could make entire objects disappear. Basically, it works similar to a creature brain, but it doesn't give you any points, and it can be hidden. Just place it on any object and wire a one shot switch to it. When it is activated, the black hole will totally destroy the object. This could be great for making emitted objects disappear once they reach a certain area. | 2009-04-24 21:48:00 Author: Entity ![]() Posts: 274 |
Then there would be no point to dissolve material anymore... | 2009-04-24 23:38:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
Yeah there would. Because, say, you're walking on A. You want it to look like A continues into the distance, but in reality, there is a bit of dissolve B. With the black hole tool, A, B, and the continuation of A will disappear. But with dissolve, JUST B would go. | 2009-04-24 23:44:00 Author: dawesbr ![]() Posts: 3280 |
Plus, let's say you want an OBJECT to disappear, you can't really make objects disappear with the dissolve material, the black hole tool would help in that case. Good idea. | 2009-04-24 23:49:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino ![]() Posts: 5250 |

Exatly my point, with this there would be no point in having disolve material as you'd be able tomake anything dissapear. Don't get me wrong, i like the idea and all, just saying, if we had that dissolve material would e obsolete and just a waste of space. | 2009-04-24 23:53:00 Author: Silverleon ![]() Posts: 6707 |
Dissolve isn't a waste of space! It is my favourite material, good edge, grabbable, dissolvable, stickerable, light.... What MOAR do you need? | 2009-04-25 01:41:00 Author: dkjestrup ![]() Posts: 672 |

There are clearly situations in which you want to dissolve only a certain part of one big object - with the black hole tool, the whole object would go! | 2009-04-25 12:02:00 Author: dawesbr ![]() Posts: 3280 |
