The Name's Drabaz

Archive: 25 posts

Hello everybody, my names Doug but you can call me Drabaz. I've been lurking around this forum for a while now but never had that much input nor need help badly enough to actually sign up. But I realized that I don't need to need help or anything to join this community. It's just a nice place to discuss everything LittleBigPlanet!2009-04-24 15:38:00

Welcome to the forums! For Everything LBP, check out the "Everything Else LBP" section. It is usually the first place that interesting, exploitable glitches and cool features that are upcoming or released but not discovered. It's the place I'm most excited when a new thread is made. So, yeah, check it out.

Enjoy it here!

Yeah, you don't need to be some god or whatever at LBP to be here... we just have two rules:

1. Don't be a jerk.
2. Don't H4H

do that, and you'll do fine . WELCOME anyway

Awsome! Thanks for all the greetings. Don't worry, I'm not a jerk in real life, nor am I a jerk online. Also, I'm assuming H4H means Heart for Heart and F4F means Favorite for Favorite. Are they both looked down upon? Personally I don't like them since it kind of feels like the player cares more about you trying their level than complimenting your own level.

o0 Oooo a peanut!

F4F is feedback for feedback, a system we have in place here at LBPC. Simply go to the level Showcase, and select the "F4F" Prefix when creating a thread. Members who use this prefix will play your level, then leave feedback. Following this, they should say which level they want you to "F4F". You then go onto their level, play it, then leave feedback. It's a hell of a lot more productive than H4H, and works towards improving levels, not ruining the system.2009-04-24 19:20:00

Wow, feedback for feedback is brilliant. That's way better than favorite for favorite. I'll have to give that a try. Although I only have one level so far. Don't get me wrong. I've had the game since it first came out and have been playing it all the time. I have just been focusing on editing my 1 level for months. I want to make sure it doesnt suck.

ps. zwollie, you made me literaly laugh out loud at work. Luckily nobody was around.

Whoa! people... We've entered some sort of 'Bizzaro-mirror-Spock' universe here!

Anybody else notice?

First, Rock forgets the peanut... and THEN!?! He types 'it' in reverse. Thus accepting, instead of giving, said peanut.

Magic? That explains sooooo much.

Also, can anyone help me with my profile picture? It doesn't seem to load on anything but when I look at my profile page. Is there a size limit. If so, my avatar is only 80x80 pixels. Or is that too small? lol

TIME FOR A HISTORY LESSON!

Gather around, children- though I am 15 and most of you are so much older then me >_>

This forum was started in June 2007, right after LBP was released. lbp, who I think is some computer programmer or something (no one knows much about him), founded the site.

The site existed in some form or another for 13 months. In July 08, however, everything changed.

That was when ConfusedCartman registered. He was member 118.

In 13 months, we had 118 members.

in the past 9 months, we're over 4000.

what happened? CC got some sneak preview of LBP at some expo and wrote a summary of it, exclusive to this site.

It was featured on kotaku, various other stuff, ect.

When I registered a month later, I was member 323.

In the span of a month, we got three times as many people as we got in 13 months.

CC rose through the ranks VERY quickly. In the span of three WEEKS, he went from newbie to the first moderator to full blown admin.

Most of what you see now is really CC's work. He pretty much runs the show (lbp is busy in ways I, with my relatively content teenage mind, cannot comprehend). lbp pays for the entire site (at least until advertising/donations came in). However, while lbp OWNS the site, CC RUNS the site. He does a fine good job, I'd say, considering he's only 17 :/.

So yeah. the best LBP community out there is run by a random teenager in california.

Ain't the internet great?

Actually, Profile Pic and Avatar are two separate things on this forum. Go back to UserCP (on the top nav bar there) and select Edit Avatar. You should be able to upload the same pic for your avatar as you have for your profile.

And thanks for noting my avatar!!

EDIT: Rock!! Nice historical briefing there! I did not know most of that. Very cool!! You darn kids... makes me optimistic for our future. Really.

Thanks Ghost and V0rtex. I swear I'm not usually that careless  I just assumed profile pic would take care of both like they do in other sites. But I guess that's cool that you can have a different avatar and profile pic.

And thanks Rock. That was a superb history lesson!
