Bolting in back layer?

Archive: 7 posts

So, yeah, for my..."project", i am making a... "bird". Yes, that will do.

Anyway, I have two "wings", one in the front layer, one in the back behind the thing that resembles the bird. I want it to be that they are bolting with a wobble bolt (to try and simulate flying), however...

the one in front works just fine, it's just that the one in back is BEHIND the bird, so it can't be bolted... or can it? I'd prefer not to glue it, but... seems strange that you can't bolt in whichever layer you want.

Or can you? Help please?

you can bolt it, im assuming there is a body of some sort between these wings on the middle layer? You should fix the back wing to the body first and ajust it how you want. Then make the front wing and fix it to the body. Unfortunately putting a bolt on another bolt ends badly so the wings probably cant be perfectly even. On should be slightly to the side.2009-04-22 00:19:00

you might also be able to connect the wings in some way? like, glue a tiny piece of material between them, that holds both wings in the same position, so they're effectively "one object", and when the front moves via the wobble bolt, so does the back? I dunno, gl with your bird if that doesnt work =/2009-04-22 00:27:00

Um, why not put the bolt in the body to connect it to the wing? that should work, i know as i used the same method with my boss who has 2 moving arms.
That should work just fine.
