Hey just in case yas didn't hear yet:

http://www.vg247.com/2009/04/20/rumour-fallout-new-vegas-announced-in-london/

Fallout New Vegas will release next year on PS3, 360 and PC.

It's being made by Obsidian Entertainment who made NW2, KOTOR2 and are currently also making Alpha Protocol. As far as I know they are made up primarily of people from Black Isle Studios who made the original Fallouts.

Let's just say... I'm intrigued. Really unexpected to get another Fallout so soon. I wonder if Oblivion and Fallout DLC are all Bethesda are working on. I'm dying to find out if they're making Fallout 4 (unlikely IMO with Obsidian making New Vegas) or ESV next.

Nice it sounds good, I hope its more fallout 2ish. Don't get me wrong I Loved Fallout 3. I just loved how in Fallout 2 was pretty much the Fallout 3 world plus a lot more. They already had Vegas in Fallout 2. And you could join either mob, and gamble and get hookers etc. I wish they just spent more time initially and made a huge oblivion style fallout 3 world. That wouldve been awesome.2009-04-20 23:22:00

Hmmm... just wondering. Since it's being made by Obsidian, and Alpha Protocol uses the Unreal 3 Engine, do you think this game will too?2009-04-21 00:51:00

So those guys are the ones that make Unreal? Ya that does kind of make me worried too. Even though Bethesda doesn't give out DLC I would trust them more to make a good game. Like I said I just wish they made a bigger more emerse fallout2009-04-21 01:10:00

I hope they make it like KOTOR, (maybe, it might work right?) I love KOTOR 2 (I've never really tried the first one.)

Maybe this time Fallout would have a bigger world. I wasn't really sucked in like I was in Oblivion.

This will probably fall on deaf ears, but here it goes.

I'm a massive fan of the original Fallout titles. To me they are some of the funniest most original western style RPG's available, sporting a grim storyline, witty characters and an insane ammount of playable options.

I'm not a big fan of F3 because it fails to provide any of the above. The central storyline was really pathetic, most of the characters felt hollow and unmotivated and usually the players options came down to the 'Good' way and the 'Bad' way.
But what F3 had for it was that it was a beautifully rendered game with massive urban exploration and a real fun combat system, so in a way I still embraced it as an enjoyable game. It still came absolutely nowhere near the originals, of course, but in its own right, it was fine.

And now Bethesda has handed the game over to Obsidian.
Where Bethesda failed to grasp the opportunity to provide great story elements, I fear Obsidian will use those chances... But not in a good way.

So far Obsidian has produced three major games I have had the unfortunate experience of playing.
KOTOR2, which was ruined by a non existing ending that made little to no sense.
NVN2, which suffered from a horrible storyline and painfully annoying railroading.
And Mask of the Betrayer, which was an awesome game, ruined, yet again, by the last five minutes of game play with an atrociously bad ending.

I don't think anyone here is going to agree with this rant, but whatevs. This is my position, I fear.

I deff agree with loving the original Fallout titles. And I really feel Bethesda failed to capture the feel of the original series. And ya the story line was really weak, it's like they thought of it in 30 minutes. Don't get me wrong I thought it was a really fun game and I enjoyed playing it, but for us original fallout fans it was pretty disappointing.2009-04-22 18:04:00

Bethesdas publishing it, so hopefully it will still be good.

check this out :

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_FAQ

What is Fallout: New Vegas?

Fallout: New Vegas is a futuristic post-apocalyptic cRPG set in an alternate universe based on 50s sci-fi pulp fiction, as if the world had stopped during the optimistic 50s and found itself in a dystopian post-apocalyptic reality. It will make use of not only the engine, but the gameplay style of Bethesda Softworks' Fallout 3, however, with a brand new story and setting

Look up van buren (the cancelled fallout 3 before fallout 3) while your on the fallout wiki. My fingers are crossed they will use its story line.
