Ok, thanks to everyone who has played and enjoyed this level... I was told many many times to make a separate thread, not just one for my trilogy - so here it is. I present to you

Review by AWESOMEMAN:

There are always levels I wish I would have thought of first. There's the Tree Fortress series, the best two levels ever. There's Ramp...because I'd live forever in infamy. Then there's Kid Rocket's Revenge and the whole Rocket trilogy, in which you kill entire families. So really you just kill this kids parents leaving him alone in the world, forcing him to take revenge. So really, SACKBOY is the bad guy!

Poor Kid.

I didn't play all the levels, but judging by the last level, they're all action packed. It's very fast paced and has some very cool elements to it. There are two epic bosses, each boss is good, but I felt that the first boss was way harder than the second boss. The first boss had no safe spots and you were always on your toes, while the first boss I just hid in the corner and shot at his weak spot from a safe distance.

Visually it's pretty good. There are a lot of details (especially behind this cage at this one part) that add to the experience, but my favorite part would have to be the beginning. Kid Rocket is about to block out the sun plunging the world into a second ice age. You get to see the ship actually block out the "sun" and then it begins to snow, and I really do want to know how Lucky Shot made the snow act how it acts, but it probably has something to do with weight and blah blah blah and I don't have the patience for that crap.

The snow effect = WIN!!!
One thing that upset me about this level is the difficulty adjustment mabob. It's a great feature, but I beat the level on easy and the blue guy made fun of me. Hopefully when I beat it on Hard, you get to kill him. This is a great feature in levels, though. It'd be great to see more of these in more levels. Small innovations like these lead to big advancements in level design.

This level is truly one of a kind because the platforming is faster, and that's something that appeals to me. Other platformers have long timing-based platforming. But not really this level. It's all about seeing what to do and then just doing it. And that's a very efficient way to grab the player's attention and get them to have fun.

All in all it's a very good level with some faults in the boss department. Unfortunately it's very short. I'll have to play the first two levels later on . I hearted it.

In the community Spotlight number 11!
Words from those kind folks:
The third in a series by LuckyShot, Kid Rocket's Revenge is a fast paced and challenging level with some really memorable moments. After presumably foiling Kid Rocket's Father and Mother's plots to take over the world (Mr Rocket and his Army of Bobs and Mrs Rocket's Robot Factory) it's time to take on their son. The robot design in this level is really amusing and Kid Rocket's appearance is both humorous and a little disturbing all at the same time. The platforming elements are really the best part of this level. The most notable being the clever sliding lift to rotating sponge combinations at the beginning, a great "avoid the security system" sequence with guaranteed death if botched, an outrun the security sweep section and an epic boss battle with Kid Rocket himself. LuckyShot has also generously offered an easy switch at the beginning of the level - but to really appreciate the level, you have to try it the hard way. - Morgana25

I'd love to add more story detail, but Morgana25 summed it up pretty well - an amazing level with funny humor and a great story line. This level is masterfully designed, with creative gameplay and great switch mechanics. I was enthralled by the amount of things going on here that dazzle the eyes. Fantastic job, Luckyshot - this was a really fun and entertaining experience! - CCubbage

Crazy Stuff you've never seen before: Snow that slowly floats to earth, day/night effect BEFORE the global lighting tool is out (THIS has been replaced by the global lighting tool) Easy Hard switch using over 76 logic gates and use of LBP "RAM", plus some sweet boss fights! I hope you guys enjoy!

Hey thanks again ccubbage! It has been deleted and published over again - so if you've hearted it in the past... PLEASE go back and heart it again, or play it on easy to see the difference or hard if you beat it on easy. It would be amazing to get on even page 13 of cool pages. Thanks again guys. And I only stray from F4F because I give ridiculously detailed feedback in my review thread, and don't expect anything in return...

Plus this level's thermo is MAXed out, so not really anything I can edit anymore.

I'm playing it now. Great level so far. I did have to restart though because I missed the arrow you are supposed to grab to lower down. I'm restarting now though.

Ok I finished, and I really enjoyed it. I got an embarrassingly low score, but whatever. I can't ace them all.

I was down to my last life on the final boss on hard mode but i pulled it off haha.

Great job, very unique feel. Hearted and 5 star.

Great level.

Great look, and very complicated. No way would i be able to make any of that intricate machinery. The boss fights were fun and the obstacles innovative. 5 stars and hearted.

A few things I noticed.

1) Occasionally camera angles are a hindrance. You aim the camera right or left to show what`s ahead, but in doing so make it harder to judge some jumps. this doesn`t happen often and is only really a small issue anyway so I wouldn`t worry too much about it.

2) During the race back, I was running across the floor of the room with the rotating triangle platforms. When I got to the lift at the end of the room, the one of the platforms jammed jammed into the lift. It killed me the first time. i managed to avoid death the second time but it still jammed up.

3) There`s no big pay off. The level starts on Earth and shows the sun being blocked. i think the level should finish on Earth and show the battle station blowing up to allow the sunlight back in. Would be a good way to bring your level full circle.

Yeah I'll have to work out the platform issue, but unfortunately I have NO room left to make an epic ending like that, thermo maxes out as soon as I add a sticker! Lol. Thanks for the feedback, maybe I'll make the platform flipper motion out and shoot the guy up there.2009-04-25 17:33:00

I need to play this level =) great boss design btw, i think the bosses would reach the full potential of being a boss if it took longer to kill them. but overall a great level..2009-04-25 18:03:00

Yeah I was thinking all the way through it that your thermo must be ready to blow!

Maybe make an epilogue, where you go back to see the sun again!

I remember reviewing this (remember the ridiculously long one, LS?). It's a very good level - you should all give it a try.2009-04-25 18:21:00

Yeah I remember - and I fixed everything pretty much since then, even made the HARD really hard for the last boss. I'm going to fix the one lift so the triangle won't squish/kill/electrify you. I just wanted it to go slow so you don't get rewarded for falling.

The last boss fight is different on the current version - he mocks you for picking HARD if you elect to not go easy, and then reigns down plasma balls from above and laughs!

What if I put a GLT at the end fading it back to daylight, would that imply the sun was no longer being blocked out?

When I saw the lift getting jammed I was wondering if I was somewhere I shouldn`t be.

I didn`t realise I was being punished though! When I headed that way I thought I was mean to take that route.

If you can`t fit in the added ending, don`t worry about it. It would be a fitting close to an epic level but it`s not necessary. I`d just leave it as it.

yeah I made the lift faster so you have to time it now - it won't just kill you every time... and Jaeyden played it and liked it, and he's a freaking lbp god, so I am just so happy to have found this site, and these people - and love that they like my level.

I just wish I had more thermo, or more time to make my next level.

Well, I thought it was a great level. I loved that you have a difficulty switch at the beginning of the level and how it affects the level as a whole. The platforming was fun and challenging. Nice job with the new global lighting, it works perfectly and makes sense. Both of the bosses were very well done, not too difficult, but not too easy. I appreciate that you changed the piston settings on that platform when you're running back. It got me all messed up the first time, but the flipper motion makes more sense now. The falling obstacles near the end is a great challenge and executed really well. The only criticism I have is minor. There are a few elements that looked odd to me particularly the orange sponge on the jump pads and the material used on the sponges near the spotlights. I also thought that the space station at the beginning could use a bit more detail. I don't think I would know what it was, if it wasn't for the speech bubbles. Overall, a really fantastic job. Fun level, with great replay ability.2009-04-27 21:49:00

Ok time to let this sink to the bottom forever - Thanks to everyone who hearted this in the past, and you are really cool if you hearted it both times I released it, but it's obvious that re-releasing a level won't get it on cool pages for very long. It was A LOT of fun making this level, and I hope you enjoy my future projects as much as this one.2009-05-10 08:08:00
